Wong went 0-for-4 and scored a run in a victory over Houston on Thursday.

Wong was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Tuesday and made his debut with the club Thursday when he entered as a pinch runner for Brian Goodwin in the second inning. He came around to score on a sacrifice fly but otherwise had a quiet night. Goodwin is expected to miss at least one game with back spasms, perhaps giving the versatile Wong -- who has spent time playing multiple positions in both the infield and outfield -- an opportunity to nab a start over the final weekend of the season.

Mayfield went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Angels on Thursday.

Mayfield collected the first hit in his latest big-league stint the fifth inning, drilling a long ball to left field to temporarily tie the score. The 28-year-old belted 28 homers and batted .287 in 100 games with Triple-A Round Rock this season but has enjoyed considerably less success in the majors, hitting only .136 with a pair of homers and 16 strikeouts in 59 at-bats.

Castro is not in Thursday's lineup against the Twins.

He is hitting .333 with one home run and zero steals in 21 games this month. Ronny Rodriguez will start at second base and hit cleanup.

Polanco is not in Thursday's lineup against the Tigers.

All of Minnesota's regulars are resting after they clinched the division Wednesday. Ronald Torreyes will start at shortstop and hit ninth.

Arraez went 2-for-3 with a walk and two-run home run Wednesday against the Tigers.

Arraez took Drew VerHagen deep in the seventh inning to record his fourth homer of the season. Though power hasn't been Arraez's calling card, he's maintained an impressive .344 batting average and is currently in the midst of a four-game hitting streak. In addition to the strong batting average, Arraez has shown the ability to get on base -- he's maintained a .409 on-base percentage -- and has also scored 53 runs in 90 appearances this season.

Altuve is expected to be out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Angels, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Altuve started the last seven contests and will take the day off with the Astros expected to make a pre-dawn arrival into Los Angeles on Thursday. The 29-year-old has a .284/.329/.541 slash line with five home runs through 19 games in September.

Wong reported to the Angels on Wednesday.

Wong was claimed off waivers Tuesday and is likely to get into a few games during the final week of the season as the Angels evaluate his role for next year. The 24-year-old fared well with Triple-A Durham this season, slashing .307/.375/.464 with 10 homers, 29 doubles, 63 RBI and six stolen bases in 113 games.

Lopez went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI in Tuesday's 9-6 win over the Braves.

Lopez picked up right where he left off following Monday's off day; after going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles Sunday against the Twins, the rookie added three more hits -- including two run-scoring doubles -- in Tuesday's series opener. He's now slashing 294/.310/.412 with one home run and seven doubles over his past 25 games.

Andrus went 3-for-3 with a walk, a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 12-10 loss to Boston.

Since being put on notice that he'll face competition for his starting job next season, Andrus has hits in three straight games, going 5-for-11 with three extra-base hits and five RBI. Prior to his mini-outburst, Andrus was batting just .227 over 242 at-bats since the All-Star break, hence the Rangers making public a desire to open up the competition at shortstop next spring.

Torres (hamstring) is starting at second base and hitting third Tuesday against the Rays, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

As expected, Torres has been cleared to rejoin the starting lineup for Tuesday's series opener against Tampa Bay after missing a pair of games over the weekend. The second baseman, who is hitting .271 with five home runs and an .890 OPS through 15 games this month, will face Yonny Chirinos in his first game back.
