  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Club two homers in win

Lowe went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Thursday's 8-3 win over the Blue Jays.

Lowe quickly opened the scoring with a two-run blast in the first inning, and he did the same thing to close out the scoring in the ninth. He torched Toronto pitching in this three-game series, going 7-for-13 with three extra-base hits and six RBI. That has Lowe's OPS up to .645 on the year, his highest mark since he was at .660 following an April 16 game versus the Red Sox. He's batting .220 with seven homers, 24 RBI, 17 runs scored, a stolen base and two doubles over 162 plate appearances.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Athletics' Luis Urias: Getting day off

Urias is out of the lineup Thursday against the Dodgers.

This marks Urias' first day off since April 19. He's hit .268 with five home runs, eight RBI and 10 runs scored across 22 games in that span. Max Schuemann will take over at second base and hit ninth.

  • Kody Clemens 1B | MIN

Twins' Kody Clemens: Drives in four in nightcap

Clemens went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader sweep of the Orioles.

The 28-year-old utility player played hero in the nightcap, taking Yannier Cano deep for a three-run homer in the eighth inning that flipped the script on a 6-5 deficit. Clemens is batting .227 (5-for-22) with two home runs and six RBI in 11 games since joining the Twins, but he could he in line for more playing time if Ty France, who left the first game of the twin bill with a foot injury and sat out the nightcap, is sidelined for additional time.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | CHW

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Clubs homer

Sosa went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double during Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Reds.

Sosa took Nick Lodolo yard in the sixth inning for his third home run of the season and added a double in the eighth frame. The long ball was Sosa's first since Apr. 24. He's been on a tear recently, notching multiple hits in four of his last five contests and going 12-for-41 (.292) at the plate during May.

  • Kyren Paris SS | LAA

Angels' Kyren Paris: Absent from Wednesday's lineup

Paris is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Padres on Wednesday.

Paris started the season strongly, but over his past 23 games he's slashed .100/.149/.171 with one home run, three RBI and a 52.7 percent strikeout rate. He'll begin Wednesday's game in the dugout while Matthew Lugo starts in center field and bats eighth against Padres right-hander Randy Vasquez.

  • Astros' Brendan Rodgers: Playing time trending down

Rodgers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Rodgers has seemingly moved into a part-time role at the keystone, as he'll hit the bench for the third time in five games. Mauricio Dubon will get the nod at second base Wednesday, and Jose Altuve will also remain in the mix for playing time at the position on days that he's not playing left field or serving as a designated hitter.

  • Dylan Moore 2B | TEX

Mariners' Dylan Moore: Receiving afternoon off

Moore is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

Moore will get a breather for the day game after he had started in each of Seattle's last three contests while going 3-for-8 with a home run, a walk and two RBI. Miles Mastrobuoni will spell Moore at second base.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Blue Jays' Andres Gimenez: Resumes activities

Gimenez (quadricep) resumed baseball activities Tuesday, Mitch Bannon of the Athletic reports.

The second baseman landed on the IL last Friday due to a right quad strain, but it seems like he might miss close to the minimum 10 days. Gimenez is slashing .195/.273/.305 through his first 36 games with the Blue Jays after being acquired from the Guardians in December.

  • David Hamilton SS | MIL

Red Sox's David Hamilton: Belts home run in loss

Hamilton went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and two runs scored in Tuesday's extra-innings loss to Detroit.

Hamilton singled and scored in the fifth inning and came up clutch with a game-tying, two-run shot in the eighth to force extra innings. It was his second home run of the year and first since April 16. Hamilton has posted a .981 OPS with three multi-hit performances over his last seven games. Despite the recent hot streak, Hamilton owns a .579 OPS with just three extra-base hits through 58 plate appearances this season.

  • Coco Montes 2B | TB

Rays' Coco Montes: Recalled from Triple-A

Montes was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Yandy Diaz was placed on the restricted list in a corresponding move, and the Rays are already undermanned, so Montes could get some playing time in the short term. The 28-year-old utility player slashed .279/.340/.384 with one home run, three steals and a 23.4 percent strikeout rate in 22 games at Triple-A.
