Pirates' Michael Chavis: On bench Sunday
Chavis is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Cubs, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Alan Trejo SS | COL
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Sticks as regular in middle infield
Trejo will start at second base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Padres.
The arrival of top prospect Ezequiel Tovar in the big leagues has ended Trejo's run as Colorado's primary shortstop, but Brendan Rodgers' (hamstring) recent move to the injured list has opened up an everyday role for Trejo at the keystone. He'll be making his third straight start at the position after he had manned shortstop each of the prior four contests.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Rejoins lineup Sunday
Hoerner (triceps) is batting fifth as the designated hitter Sunday against the Pirates.

Dodgers' Miguel Vargas: Hits first big-league homer

He is hitting .267 with two runs and three RBI over that stretch.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Returns to lineup
Rojas started at third base and went 0-for-2 with two walks and a run scored in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Giants.
Rojas was held out of the starting lineup the previous three games -- two against left-handers and one against a right-hander -- largely due to erratic defense. He returned to action against San Francisco righty Alex Cobb Going forward, he could share third base with righty-hitting Emmanuel Rivera or switch hitter Sergio Alcantara.

Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Out of lineup
Donovan will hit the bench Saturday against the Dodgers, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
Donovan started against the left-handed Andrew Heaney on Friday but will sit against a different caliber of southpaw in Clayton Kershaw on Saturday. Tommy Edman will slide to second base in his absence, while Paul DeJong starts at shortstop.
-
Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Remains on bench
Estrada will sit Saturday against the Diamondbacks.
Estrada will sit for the second straight game, which could be related to the elbow tightness that sent him to the bench Wednesday. Ford Proctor will get the start at second base in his absence.

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Sits against southpaw
Lux isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Cardinals.
Lux is on the bench for a second consecutive matchup with left-hander Jordan Montgomery on the mound Saturday. Chris Taylor will start at the keystone and bat sixth.
