Braves' Ozzie Albies: Swats two homers in win

Albies went 2-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI and two runs scored in a 15-2 win over the Mets on Friday.

Albies capped off a six-run fourth inning with a two-run blast that barely cleared the wall in left to put the Braves up 12-0. Later in the sixth, he hit his second one and the sixth overall of the night by the Braves to extend their lead to 13-1. Since returning from the injured list Sept 9, Albies is hitting .378/.410/.757 with four home runs, eight RBI and 10 runs scored after struggling mightily to begin the season. He'll look to stay hot as the Braves continue to fight for playoff positioning before the regular season concludes at the end of the month.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Lifts third homer

Lux went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 15-6 win over the Rockies.

Lux gave the Dodgers a 4-0 lead in the second inning with his two-run blast off Rockies starter Ryan Castellani. In the seventh, Lux got aboard on a fielder's choice and came around to score on a Mookie Betts triple. The homer was Lux's third of the year to go with eight RBI, eight runs scored and a stolen base in 14 contests. He was able to snap a 0-for-14 dry spell he had over his previous four games.

  • Luis Garcia 2B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: On bench for second game

Garcia isn't in the lineup for Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader against the Marlins.

Garcia was dominant in Friday's matinee as he went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs in the win. He'll take a breather for the second game as Josh Harrison takes over at second base.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: On bench for Game 2

Frazier isn't in the lineup for the second game of Friday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Frazier went 0-for-1 with three walks and two runs during the first game of the doubleheader, but he'll take a seat for the nightcap. Bryan Reynolds will shift to left field with Jason Martin starting in center.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Nearly ready for batting practice

Marte (wriste) will take batting practice Saturday and has a shot to return during the final week of the season, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.

Marte's required 10 days on the injured list with left wrist inflammation elapsed Friday, though it looks like he still needs a few more days to heal. When exactly the Diamondbacks expect to activate him remains unclear.

  • Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU

Mets' Luis Guillorme: Dropped from active roster

Guillorme was optioned to the Mets' alternate training site Friday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Guillorme hasn't done anything wrong in his limited opportunities this season, hitting .347/.431/.429 in 58 plate appearances, though his .459 BABIP suggests he benefitted from quite a bit of good fortune. While his performances don't merit a demotion, the Mets simply didn't need an extra infielder at the moment, so he's the roster casualty as Franklyn Kilome (finger) returns from the injured list.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Mets' Andres Gimenez: Heads to bench

Gimenez will sit Friday against the Braves.

Gimenez has emerged to occupy the large half of a platoon at shortstop this season. With lefty Max Fried starting Friday, Amed Rosario gets the nod in his place.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Out of Thursday's lineup

Rojas is not in the lineup Thursday against the Angels.

Rojas started the last three games and will head to the bench after going 1-for-12 with two runs and three walks. Josh VanMeter will receive the start at the keystone in his place.

  • Brewers' Ronny Rodriguez: Sticking in organization

The Brewers outrighted Rodriguez to their alternate training site Wednesday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Rodriguez went unclaimed off waivers after being designated for assignment by the Brewers earlier this week. He'll report to the Brewers' alternate training site in Appleton and remain on hand as organizational infield depth.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Brewers' Luis Urias: Not starting first game

Urias is not in the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Urias sits for the second game in a row, though he could return to the lineup for the nightcap. Jace Peterson remains the starter at third base for the afternoon contest.
