Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Makes outfield start

Marte started in center field and went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and a run scored in Tuesday's 2-1 win over San Diego.

Marte made his first start in the outfield since missing time with a hamstring injury. He had started at second base the previous two games before slotting into center field, an indication the hamstring is no longer a bother.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Padres' Luis Urias: Will play out season at shortstop

Urias will remain at shortstop for the remainder of the season, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Urias began the season at second base but has played exclusively at shortstop since Fernando Tatis suffered a season-ending back injury Aug. 13. Urias has struggled both defensively and offensively since making the transition, committing seven errors and hitting .167 in 18 games. Per Lin, manager Andy Green stated that Urias will need to earn a starting position next season.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Continues hot streak

Frazier went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and three RBI in a 5-4 loss against the Marlins on Tuesday.

After a great July, Frazier experienced a little lull at the beginning of August, but he rebounded and has gone 21-for-50 (.420) in the last 13 games. Frazier also has a pair of homers in the last two contests. He is batting .278 with nine home runs, 41 RBI, 69 runs and four steals in 474 at-bats this season.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Big night at plate

McNeil went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored Tuesday against the Nationals.

McNeil did much of his damage late in the game, popping a solo homer in the eighth inning -- his 18th of the season. Just one frame later, he came through with a two-RBI single to extend the Mets' lead. McNeil had struggled since coming off the injured list Aug. 24, collecting just three hits across his first 25 at-bats. However, he's now reached base multiple times and homered in consecutive games. For the season, McNeil still owns a stellar .323/.390/.529 line across 480 plate appearances.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Padres' Luis Urias: Riding pine Tuesday

Urias isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Urias has struggled to a .143 average over his last 10 games, and he's also struggled in the field. Greg Garcia draws the start at shortstop and is set to lead off.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Leading off Tuesday

Lux will start at second base and bat leadoff Tuesday against the Rockies.

The 21-year-old had a pair of hits -- including a double on his first career barrel -- and three runs scored out of the eight hole in his debut Monday. He will be tested Tuesday with an assignment atop the order as Joc Pederson sits with an abdominal bruise. Manager Dave Roberts told Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com that Lux will start almost every game at second base against right-handers this month. Lux should be owned in virtually all fantasy leagues.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Gets day off

Rosario will head to the bench for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.

Rosario is in line for a day off after going 1-for-5 in Monday's series opener. Luis Guillorme draws the start at shortstop and will bat eighth.

  • Corban Joseph 2B | BAL

Giants' Corban Joseph: Scooped up by San Francisco

Joseph was claimed off waivers by the Giants on Tuesday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Joseph was designated for assignment by the Athletics on Sunday, but he'll join San Francisco's 40-man roster just a few days later. According to manager Bruce Bochey, Joseph will see time at third base when Evan Longoria needs an off day, per John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle. Pablo Sandoval (elbow) was placed on the 60-day injured list to clear a roster spot.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Set to lose work to Lux

Hernandez is expected to make the majority of his starts at second base versus left-handed pitching moving forward after manager Dave Roberts confirmed Monday that rookie Gavin Lux is the team's primary option at the position, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

The top prospect was called up ahead of Monday's 16-9 win over the Rockies and had a debut to remember, going 2-for-5 with three runs scored. Hernandez was bumped out of the starting nine as a result, though he still went on to record a hit in three at-bats while replacing a banged-up Joc Pederson (abdomen) in right field midway through the contest. Hernandez's ability to play all over the infield and outfield means that Lux's arrival won't be the death knell to the veteran's fantasy value, though it certainly isn't an ideal development. Finding playing time versus right-handed pitching will only become more difficult for Hernandez once Max Muncy (wrist) and Alex Verdugo (oblique) return from the 10-day injured list, perhaps as soon as Sept. 10.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Scores thrice in big-league debut

Lux went 2-for-5 with a double and three runs scored in his big-league debut Monday against the Rockies.

Lux, who is the Dodgers' top prospect and a top-three prospect in the game, shined in his big-league debut. He laced a first-pitch single to center field in the second inning and then banged a double to the right-center wall later in the game. Lux did not walk or strike out. The Dodgers did the right thing by adding him to the 40-man roster for the final month. Now that he is up, he should play close to every day down the stretch.
