  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Padres' Luis Urias: Called up, starting Saturday

Urias was recalled from Triple-A El Paso and will start at second base and bat seventh Saturday against the Cubs.

After overcoming a minor shoulder issue that sidelined him for a few days, Urias rejoined the Triple-A lineup Thursday, going 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in the contest. The healthy appearance was apparently all the Padres needed to see from Urias to give him another taste of the big leagues after the 22-year-old torched the Pacific Coast League to the tune of a .998 OPS over 73 games this season. Urias' brief stints in the majors both this season and in 2018 have left much to be desired, but his sound hit tool and improving power make him an intriguing speculative pickup in leagues where he's available. Expect the Padres to give Urias a spin as their everyday second baseman while Greg Garcia and Ian Kinsler move into utility roles.

  • Isan Diaz 2B | DET

Marlins' Isan Diaz: Catching fire for Triple-A club

Diaz went 1-for-4 with a home run and a walk Friday in Triple-A New Orleans' 6-5 win over Round Rock in 10 innings.

With a 134 wRC+, Diaz has been one of the Pacific Coast League's standout performers throughout the season, but his work at the plate of late has been particularly impressive. Over his last 10 games, Diaz is batting .386 with four home runs, two stolen bases and a 4:9 BB:K. The 23-year-old has played exclusively at second base this season, but the Marlins could have Diaz begin taking reps at third in an effort to increase his versatility ahead of his promotion to the big leagues. Until that happens, however, a Starlin Castro trade or injury may represent the only path for Diaz to receive his first callup.

Padres' Luis Urias: Promotion on tap

Urias will be recalled from Triple-A El Paso prior to Saturday's game against the Cubs, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Urias struggled with the Padres earlier this season, slashing .083/.241/.125 over 11 games, but he's in line for another chance with the big-league club. San Diego has yet to announce a corresponding move.

  • Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU

Mets' Luis Guillorme: Heads back to minor leagues

Guillorme was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Guillorme is just 1-for-4 since being promoted July 2, and with the Mets in need of fresh arms following Thursday night's 16-inning affair, he'll head back down to Triple-A. Tyler Bashlor and Stephen Nogosek were recalled in corresponding moves.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Goes yard twice

Hernandez went 4-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI on Thursday against the Phillies.

Hernandez took Aaron Nola deep twice, the first coming in the second inning followed by another long ball in the fourth frame. He now has 16 home runs for the season, though he hadn't gone deep since July 2 prior to Thursday's action. Even with the return of Corey Seager, Hernandez has managed to maintain fairly regular at-bats. However, he's at risk of being on the small side of a platoon, especially considering he's hitting just .235/.309/.435 across 343 plate appearances for the season.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Just misses cycle in rout

Rosario went 4-for-4 with a walk, a triple, a home run, four runs scored and three RBI in Wednesday's rout of the Twins.

The long ball was his first since June 25, but Rosario has otherwise been on fire in July, hitting safely in seven straight games and compiling a .455/.500/.697 slash line on the month after Wednesday's explosion. On the year, the 23-year-old is now hitting .274 with a career-high 10 homers, 10 steals, 44 runs and 45 RBI in 92 games

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Early exit in blowout

Marte was removed from Wednesday's game versus the Rangers after the top of the second inning due to a coach's decision, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.

The Diamondbacks exploded for 12 runs across the first two frames, prompting Marte's exit from the game. The 25-year-old went 1-for-2 with a run scored, an RBI, a double and a hit by pitch. Manager Torey Lovullo may just be giving his All-Star center fielder/second baseman some rest with a huge early lead.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Shifted to 60-day IL

Rodgers (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

This move is simply procedural, as Rodgers has already been ruled out for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery to address a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Harrison Musgrave (elbow) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move and optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

    Pirates' Adam Frazier: Sitting Wednesday

Frazier is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Cardinals.

He is hitting .435 with one home run and one steal in 46 at-bats this month. Kevin Newman starts at second base while Jung Ho Kang gets the start at shortstop.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Out for season after surgery

Rodgers (shoulder) announced via Instagram on Tuesday that he underwent surgery and is out for the season, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.

Rodgers landed on the injured list in late June with a right shoulder impingement after dealing with some discomfort over the previous few days. The 22-year-old was pictured in a hospital bed with his right arm in a heavy brace/sling and finished the post by saying, "See you in 2020." According to Thomas Harding of MLB.com, Rodgers underwent surgery to address a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
