Braves' Ozzie Albies: Flashes speed at top of order

Albies went 2-for-5 with a triple, two runs scored and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Mets.

With Ender Inciarte struggling, Albies got a chance to lead off against one of the top right-handed pitchers in baseball in Jacob deGrom, and the 22-year-old didn't look fazed at all. Albies is now slashing .328/.397/.459 through 15 games, and while he isn't showing the power he did early last season, his three steals and 7:8 BB:K are marked improvements on 2018. Don't be surprised if he takes over table-setting duties for Atlanta on a full-time basis.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Plates two Sunday

Marte went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 8-4 win over San Diego.

Marte gave the Diamondbacks their first lead, one they never relinquished, with his third-inning homer, his fourth of the season. He didn't hit his fourth last year until June 10. A look at his batted-ball numbers indicates the 25-year-old has adjusted his launch angle. Marte went from a 29% flyball rate in 2018 to 43.4% this season. That's helped fuel his .508 slugging percentage and .254 ISO.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Sets Sunday's table

Frazier went 2-for-3 with a double, walk and two runs against Washington on Sunday.

He's hit leadoff while playing second base exclusively, even though the team could have moved him to center field when Starling Marte missed time with a migraine. Frazier is slashing .296/.377/.426 with one homer and two stolen bases in 62 plate appearances.

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Batting leadoff vs. righty

Albies is starting at second base and batting leadoff Sunday night against the Mets, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Albies has largely been limited to leadoff duties against southpaws thus far but finds himself at the top of the lineup Sunday against reigning NL Cy Young winner Jacob deGrom. Manager Brian Snitker indicated following Saturday's game that the 22-year-old could get a look as the everyday leadoff hitter and followed through on that notion Sunday. The move certainly makes sense given the early-season results, as Albies is slashing .282/.391/.359 with a 7:6 BB:K through 46 plates appearances against right-handed pitching.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Day off Sunday

Hernandez is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Hernandez will head to the bench after starting the last three games and going 2-for-11 with a two-run home run. Chris Taylor will start at the keystone and bat seventh in the series finale versus Milwaukee.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Returns with homer

India (wrist) returned to action Saturday and homered for High-A Daytona.

The homer is the second on the season for India, the Reds' first-round pick last season. He's off to a slow start in a tough hitting track, hitting .211 with 12 strikeouts in 38 at-bats.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Looks good in leadoff spot

McNeil went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and two RBI in Friday's win over Atlanta.

With Brandon Nimmo slumping and dropped down in the order, McNeil got a shot at filling the leadoff spot and did what he's done all season so far: string together hits. The 27-year-old is slashing .359/.444/.487 through 12 games with seven runs and eight RBI, and his fantasy outlook can only improve if he sticks at the top of a potent Mets order.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Departs after HBP

India left the game after being struck in the wrist by a pitch during Friday's minor-league action, Justin Rocke reports.

India didn't immediately exit the contest, as he managed to swipe second base before being lifted. He'll be considered day-to-day until the details surrounding his injury are unveiled.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Padres' Luis Urias: Draws another start

Urias is starting at second base and will bat eighth Friday against Arizona.

Urias went 1-for-3 with a double in Thursday's series opener, and he'll get another shot to start with Luke Weaver slated to pitch for the opposition. Ian Kinsler will head to the bench as a result.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Receives first day off

Marte is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Padres.

Marte started the first 13 games of the season -- six starts at second base and seven in center field -- but heads to the bench with Chris Paddack on the mound for the Friars. Wilmer Flores will start at the keystone while Jarrod Dyson is in center field for the Diamondbacks.
