  • Royals' Michael Massey: Restarting assignment Friday

Massey (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment at Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Friday.

Massey landed on the injured list June 10 due to a left ankle sprain, but he was pulled off his rehab assignment July 3 after suffering a hairline fracture in his right wrist as a result of a hit-by-pitch. The Royals haven't specified how long they plan to keep the 27-year-old in the minors for his second rehab stint, but a return to Kansas City before the end of the month remains possible.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Will be re-evaluated Thursday

Rays president of baseball operations Erik Neander said that Lowe (oblique) will be re-evaluated after a workout Thursday to determine whether he will be activated from the 10-day injured list before Friday's game versus the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Lowe hasn't played since July 6 after tweaking his left oblique, finally landing on the IL on July 11. The Rays labeled the injury as tightness rather than a strain, seemingly giving him a better chance at a brief absence. If Lowe gets through Thursday's workout without any hiccups, he should skip a rehab assignment and rejoin the Rays' lineup Friday.

  • Travis Bazzana 2B | CLE

Guardians' Travis Bazzana: Returning to Double-A action Friday

Double-A Akron is expected to reinstate Bazzana (oblique) from the 7-day injured list Friday, SI.com reports.

Bazzana has been out of action with Akron since mid-May due to a right oblique strain, but he was cleared to resume a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on July 5. Through the first seven contests of his rehab assignment, Bazzana has gone 4-for-18 with two doubles, eight walks, seven runs, two RBI and one stolen base. The 22-year-old infielder posted a .795 OPS to go with four home runs and eight steals in 33 games for Akron before landing on the IL.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | KC

Royals' Adam Frazier: Heading back to Kansas City

The Royals acquired Frazier from the Pirates on Wednesday in exchange for infielder Cam Devanney, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Frazier spent the 2024 season in Kansas City and evidently made a positive impression despite slashing just .202/.282/.294 over 104 contests. The 33-year-old hasn't been much better in 2025 with a .255/.318/.336 batting line, but he offers some versatility and could see reps at second base and/or in left field against right-handed pitching.

  • Jose Fermin 2B | STL

Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Cranks first big-league homer

Fermin went 1-for-4 with a go-ahead, two-run home run in Sunday's win over Atlanta.

Making his first major-league start in left field and just his second career start at any outfield position, Fermin broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run blast off of Jesse Chavez in the bottom of the sixth inning. It was the first major-league home run in the career of Fermin, who was playing his 10th game this season and 76th game of his career. Fermin is traditionally an infielder, but he could some starts in the corner outfield spots versus lefties while Lars Nootbaar (ribs) and Jordan Walker (appendix) are out.

  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

Brewers' Brice Turang: Goes yard Sunday

Turang went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 8-1 win over Washington.

Turang went back-to-back with Jackson Chourio for consecutive eighth-inning homers, giving the Brewers some insurance runs. The long ball was Turang's sixth of the season, and his first since June 22. The second baseman will head into the All-Star break in a minor slump, as he's managed just five hits across 40 plate appearances over his last 11 contests.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

    Rangers' Marcus Semien: Homers again

Semien went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 5-1 win over the Astros.

Semien went yard for a second straight game, tagging Kaleb Ort for a solo shot in the eighth inning. The second baseman is up to 12 home runs on the season, five of which have come in the last 13 games. Semien is 15-for-51 (.294) with 16 runs scored and 14 RBI during that stretch.

  • Cole Young SS | SEA

Mariners' Cole Young: Comes up clutch

Young went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 8-4 win over Detroit.

Young and Jorge Polanco hit back-to-back solo home runs as part of a four-run ninth inning. The long ball was Young's second of his rookie campaign, and he'll take a five-game hit streak into the All-Star break. He's 7-for-18 (.389) with four RBI and four runs scored during that stretch.

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Registers steal in win

Stott went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Padres.

Stott is off to a quiet start in July, going 5-for-30 (.167) with three walks over nine games to begin the month. His theft Sunday was his first of the month and his 14th of the year on 17 chances, which is a bit of a decline after he posted back-to-back 30-steal campaigns the last two seasons. The 27-year-old has added a .234/.303/.333 slash line with six home runs, 38 RBI, 38 runs scored, nine doubles and two triples over 86 contests.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Swats fifth homer

Rojas went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-2 extra-innings win over the Giants.

Rojas popped his fifth homer of the year, taking Robbie Ray deep in the fifth inning. Rojas' playing time has picked up in July as he helps cover for the absence of starting third baseman Max Muncy (knee), with Rojas having a regular spot in the lineup versus southpaws. With Tommy Edman healthy again after a brief absence due to a toe injury, Rojas is likely to remain in a short-side platoon role, essentially sharing one spot in the lineup with the left-handed-hitting Hyeseong Kim. Rojas is slashing a decent .254/.297/.415 across 139 plate appearances this season.
