  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Called up, starting Game 1

The Rangers recalled Ibanez from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday. He'll start at third base and bat ninth in the first game of the Rangers' doubleheader with the Guardians.

To open up a spot on the 26-man active roster for Ibanez, the Rangers placed reliever Brett Martin on the COVID-19-related injured list. Though Ibanez is receiving a start in his first game back with the Rangers, he's expected to handle a backup role at third base while Texas gives prospect Ezequiel Duran a look at the hot corner.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Mariners' Adam Frazier: Busy night in win

Frazier went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs in a win over the Astros on Monday.

Frazier laced his 12th two-bagger of the season off Cristian Javier and also crossed the plate on both of Cal Raleigh's hits, a three-run home run in the second inning and a fourth-inning single. Frazier's double snapped a 19-plate-appearance hitless stretch that had encompassed his previous five games, and despite the productive night, he's still carrying an uninspiring .238/.305./.332 slash line for the season.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Cranking in Double-A

    Sosa has a .342/.392/.566 line with 11 homers, 39 RBI and a 14:32 BB:K through 49 games for Double-A Birmingham.

He came into the season known as a free swinger with modest pop, but Sosa's muscled up, hitting as many homers already this year as he did in 115 games last season. He's also brought his walk rate up a bit (6.2 percent) while striking out at his lowest rate (14.1 percent) since rookie ball, so all signs are pointing up for Sosa in his second Double-A go-'round. Sosa had been pigeonholed as a future utility guy, but if he keeps hitting this consistently (his longest hitless streak this season is two games), the White Sox will likely give him a chance to strut his stuff by next season -- and maybe sooner. With Tim Anderson in the fold and Sosa not known for his defense at shortstop, the 22-year-old will probably play second base when he gets to the big leagues.

  • Liover Peguero SS | PIT

Pirates' Liover Peguero: Enduring power outage

Peguero has hit just .260/.291/.394 with one home run and six steals across his last 31 games for Double-A Altoona.

Thanks to a hot start, his season line still sits at .293/.320/.476 -- pretty good for a 21-year-old in Double-A. Nonetheless, Peguero's power production has dried up recently, and plate discipline has been an issue too, as he's posted a 3.7 percent walk rate and 26.7 percent strikeout rate over the aforementioned 31-game stretch. He has enough pop, speed and contact ability to be relevant for fantasy purposes one day, but he'll need to improve his approach against upper-level pitching before he makes it to the big leagues.

  • Red Sox's Christian Arroyo: Starts in right field

Arroyo started in right field, went 0-for-3 as the leadoff hitter, was hit by a pitch and stole a base in Monday's 1-0 win over the Angels.

Arroyo got the start with Jackie Bradley moving to center field to cover for the resting Enrique Hernandez. The steal was his second of the season and matches the number of stolen bases he had over his previous five seasons in the majors.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Homers among three hits

Altuve went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in a loss to the Mariners on Monday.

Altuve led off the bottom of the first inning with a 409-foot shot to left field to give Houston an early lead. He added a pair of singles in the contest, including a run-scoring knock in the second inning. Altuve is slashing .280/.354/.535 with 11 homers, 19 RBI, 26 runs and three stolen bases on the season. He's collected five hits over his past 10 at-bats.

  • Tigers' Harold Castro: Might see more time at third

With Jeimer Candelario (shoulder) potentially headed to the injured list Tuesday, per Chris McCosky of The Detroit News, Castro could see more regular time at third base.

Castro has been a valuable utility player for the Tigers this season with a .286/.303/.476 slash line across 34 games while appearing at every position except for catcher and right field, but the team may need him to settle in a bit more at the hot corner if Candelario has to miss time. Kody Clemens is also an option to see more time at third in the short term if needed.

  • Reds' Brandon Drury: Goes deep in win

Drury went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored in Monday's 7-0 win over Arizona.

Drury set the tone early with his solo shot off of Madison Bumgarner in the first inning. He then singled and scored again in the seventh. The 29-year-old has produced five multi-hit efforts in his last six games, raising his season slash line to .263/.324/.497. Drury is hitting .279 with seven long balls and 28 runs scored since the start of May.

  • Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Gets night off

Hernandez isn't starting Monday's game against the Angels, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Hernandez is in the midst of a modest four-game hitting streak, collecting one double, two walks and one run scored over that stretch. He'll get a breather Monday, giving Christian Arroyo a chance to start in left field while Jackie Bradley shifts to center.

  • Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU

Mets' Luis Guillorme: Not starting Monday

Guillorme will sit Monday against the Padres.

Guillorme has been in the lineup on a more regular basis recently, starting eight of the last nine games prior to Monday's contest. He hit .379/.486/.414 over that stretch but will rest this time around, with Jeff McNeil starting at second base.
