  • Mauricio Dubon SS | ATL

Giants' Mauricio Dubon: Stuck in slump

Dubon has gone 1-for-14 in his last nine games.

Dubon has already been contained to a part-time role even with injuries piling up in the Giants' outfield. With Mike Yastrzemski (illness) and Joc Pederson (groin) nearing returns, Dubon's path to playing time is likely to narrow even more. For the season, the utility man has a .143/.138/.179 slash line with three RBI, three runs scored and a double in 29 plate appearances.

  • Michael Chavis 2B | CIN

Pirates' Michael Chavis: On bench for second straight

Chavis is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Tigers.

Chavis made four consecutive starts from last Wednesday through Saturday, but he now finds himself on the bench for the second game in a row. With the Pirates recently returning Bryan Reynolds and Cole Tucker from the COVID-19 injured list, the righty-hitting Chavis looks like he'll find himself on the bench more often than not against right-handed pitchers.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Brewers' Luis Urias: On base twice in return

Urias (quadriceps) went 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Reds.

Urias, who was making his 2022 debut after missing the start of the season with a quad injury, scored on a Willy Adames homer in the third inning and later drove in a run on a single. He was also caught stealing -- a bit of a bummer, but it's nice to see he's feeling spry enough to run. Urias was batting out of the nine hole in his first game off the injured list.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Smashes second homer

Altuve went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a 4-0 win over Seattle on Tuesday.

Making his second start since returning from a hamstring injury, Altuve walked in the third inning and tacked on a solo shot in the seventh off reliever Matt Festa to provide a valuable insurance run. Through 11 games, Altuve is slashing .286/.310/.595 with two home runs, three runs and four RBI.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Delivers offense Tuesday

Hoerner went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday's loss to the White Sox.

Hoerner delivered the Cubs' only extra-base hit and only RBI in the 3-1 loss to their crosstown rivals. Andrelton Simmons (shoulder) recently began throwing again, and his eventual return could cut into Hoerner's playing time. For now, Hoerner should see most of the team's time at shortstop, and he's performed pretty well with a .278 average, though he only has one home run and eight RBI across 22 games.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Sitting against southpaw

Kemp is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rays, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Kemp is 4-for-23 against left-handed pitching this season and will sit Tuesday with Ryan Yarbrough taking the mound for Tampa Bay. Sheldon Neuse will cover the keystone while Jed Lowrie serves as the designated hitter.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Lux is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Giants, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Lux started the past six games and will receive a day off after going 5-for-18 with one run during that stretch. Hanser Alberto will start at the keystone and bat ninth in Lux's place.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Not starting Tuesday

Ibanez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

Ibanez was 5-for-11 with two walks, two runs and two stolen bases while starting the past four games, but he'll take a seat Tuesday despite the fact left-hander Ranger Suarez is pitching for Philadelphia. Charlie Culberson will man the hot corner in his place and bat eighth.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Twins' Luis Arraez: Idle versus lefty

Arraez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.

With lefty Bruce Zimmermann on the bump for Baltimore, the lefty-hitting Arraez will take a seat as the Twins stock up on more right-handed bats to counter the southpaw. Rookie Jose Miranda will pick up a second straight start, this time replacing Arraez at first base after filling in for Gio Urshela in his MLB debut in Monday's 2-1 win.

  • Owen Miller 2B | CHC

Guardians' Owen Miller: Takes hold of cleanup spot

Miller will start at first base and bat cleanup in Tuesday's game against the Padres.

Since being reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list April 24, Miller has started in each of the Guardians' subsequent eight games while going 6-for-25 with two doubles and four walks. Though he's beginning to cool off a bit after a hot first two weeks of the season, Miller still owns a 1.104 OPS on the campaign. He'll be occupying the cleanup spot Tuesday for the fifth time in six games and looks poised to remain in the heart of the order while slugger Franmil Reyes remains in a deep slump at the dish.
