  • Angels' Jeremiah Jackson: Lands on injured list

Jackson was placed on Double-A Rocket City's 7-day injured list Tuesday due to an unspecified injury, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Jackson appeared in two games for Rocket City to open the season but has now been sidelined for 10 days due to the injury. The Angels haven't said when he's expected to return.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Slugs fifth homer

Albies went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Monday in a loss to the Dodgers.

Albies helped chase Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw in the sixth inning with a 421-foot solo blast. That was the second baseman's only hit of the game, and he has only one multi-hit effort so far this season. Albies is batting .213 through 47 at-bats, but he is tied for the MLB lead with five long balls.

  • Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA

    Rays' Xavier Edwards: Nearing return

Edwards (shoulder) has been working out at the team's spring training facility and is nearing a return to game action, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Edwards was diagnosed with a shoulder impingement in early April, though the issue was not deemed to be major. It's not clear exactly what activity Edwards has been engaged in while missing game action, but it appears that a return in late April remains realistic.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Diagnosed with hamstring strain

Altuve is being considered day-to-day with a left hamstring strain, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Altuve was unable to finish Monday's contest after stepping awkwardly on first base in an effort to beat out an infield single, though he appears to have avoided a significant injury. The team will likely re-evaluate the star second baseman in the morning to determine his status for Tuesday's matchup. Aledmys Diaz figures to see time at the keystone if Altuve is unable to go.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Exits with injury

Altuve was removed from Monday's game against the Angels due to an undisclosed injury, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Altuve suffered the injury while running down the line to beat out an infield hit, and according to McTaggart, he appeared to step on first base awkwardly. The location and severity of the injury are unknown at this point.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Won't start in San Diego

Manager David Bell said Monday it has yet to be decided whether India (hamstring) will be placed on the injured list, though the second baseman won't rejoin the starting lineup until at least Friday even if he avoids the shelf, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

India has already missed three games due to the hamstring injury and is out again Monday, and he apparently won't rejoin the lineup during the three-game set in San Diego, which ends Wednesday. A trip to the injured list would make sense for the 25-year-old at this point since he's already set to miss more time, and he could still return early next week since the transaction can be backdated a few days. Brandon Drury should continue to see action at the keystone in his absence.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Remains sidelined

India (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Padres.

India left Thursday's game against the Dodgers with a hamstring injury and hasn't seen the field since then. The Reds hinted at a possible move to the injured list for India on Sunday, though no such move has been made yet. Injured list transactions can be backdated three days, so the team could place India on the list Monday and have him available one week later. Brandon Drury remains the starter at second base in his absence.

  • Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM

Twins' Jorge Polanco: Homers, plates four in win

Polanco went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Monday's win over the Red Sox.

Polanco's first hit of the day came in the top of the third inning when he homered off Rich Hill, driving in teammate Gilberto Celestino. He later added a two-RBI single in the eighth, scoring Gary Sanchez and Luis Arraez. The homer was his second of the season and the two-hit performance was his third multi-hit effort of the 2022 campaign.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Possible IL trip

The Reds could decide to put India (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list if he's not ready to play Monday against the Padres, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. "We do need to make a decision, [Monday] at the latest, to get him back as soon as possible if he does have to go on the IL," manager David Bell said. "We can backdate it three days. It's been sore, but not too bad. Still hoping to avoid the IL."

The Reds played short-handed all weekend against the Dodgers and really struggled without India's bat in the lineup. Placing India on the IL won't cure that, obviously, but it would give the Reds another bat to mix and match late in games.

  • Vidal Brujan SS | NYM

Rays' Vidal Brujan: Battling sore knee

Brujan hasn't appeared in a minor-league game since April 6 due to knee soreness but is expected to return soon, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Brujan missed out on a spot on the Rays' Opening Day roster and hasn't had the chance to make his case for playing time in the minors, as he appeared in just two games before being sidelined for nearly two weeks. Once healthy, he shouldn't be too far from a call-up, as he can play all over the diamond and hit .262/.345/.440 in 103 Triple-A games last season, though the fact that he wasn't on the Opening Day roster may mean it will take an injury ahead of him to open up a roster spot.
