    Blue Jays' Andres Gimenez: Huge day in rout

    Gimenez went 2-for-3 with a walk, a three-run home run and two additional runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Yankees.

    The second baseman took Max Fried deep in the fourth inning, one of three Blue Jay long balls in a 12-5 rout. Gimenez has started to find a groove at the plate, batting .300 (9-for-20) over his last eight starts, but on the season he's still slashing a poor .207/.293/.315 with five homers, 10 steals, 21 RBI and 25 runs in 59 contests.

  • Yankees' Braden Shewmake: Shelved at Triple-A

    Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre placed Shewmake on its 7-day injured list Wednesday due to an unspecified injury.

    Shewmake possesses a spot on the Yankees' 40-man roster but has spent the entire 2025 season in the minors. Over his 173 plate appearances with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Shewmake has slashed .235/.324/.379 with four home runs and nine stolen bases.

  • Donovan Walton 2B | PHI

    Phillies' Donovan Walton: Traded to Phillies

    The Phillies acquired Walton from the Mets on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations.

    Walton has spent all of this season at Triple-A Syracuse, where he's slashed .222/.315/.377 with 11 home runs over 73 games. The 31-year-old can play every infield positions and also left field, giving the Phillies some experienced utility depth at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

  • Giants' Christian Koss: Placed on injured list

    The Giants placed Koss on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left hamstring strain, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

    Koss had to make an early exit from Monday's game after injuring his hamstring during his third at-bat, and he'll now be forced to sit out at least another 10 days. With Matt Chapman (hand) and Casey Schmitt (wrist) also on the IL, Wilmer Flores is likely to see some time at third base in the near future. Meanwhile, Luis Matos will come up from Triple-A Sacramento to replenish the Giants' bench depth.

    Astros' Shay Whitcomb: Recalled from Triple-A

    The Astros recalled Whitcomb from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

    He's absorbing the roster spot vacated by the injured Jeremy Pena (rib). Whitcomb is hitless in nine at-bats with the Astros this season but has put up a .942 OPS with 19 home runs in 264 plate appearances with Sugar Land. The 26-year-old could be mixed in at a few positions in Houston.

    Marlins' Jack Winkler: Optioned to Triple-A

    The Marlins optioned Winkler to Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.

    Winkler was with the big club for a month but made just four starts, going 1-for-11 at the dish. He's clearing out to make room on the roster for Derek Hill's (wrist) return.

  • Brewers' Anthony Seigler: Officially added to roster

    The Brewers selected Seigler's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

    Seigler is a versatile player capable of handling catcher, second base and third base. He's a switch hitter but is a much better hitter from the left side of the plate, as he posted a .975 OPS against righties as compared to a .445 OPS versus lefties this season at Nashville. The 26-year-old is also a capable baserunner, having gone 20-for-23 on stolen-base attempts over 63 games in 2025. Seigler will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

  • Giants' Tyler Fitzgerald: Multi-hit effort in defeat

    Fitzgerald went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Diamondbacks.

    Called up from Triple-A Sacramento before Monday's game, Fitzgerald lined a double to left field in the fifth inning. He then added a two-run double in the seventh to tie the game at 2-2. The 27-year-old infielder delivered his first multi-hit performance since June 11 after going 0-for-11 in his last six big-league appearances. Fitzgerald appeared in 21 games in June, slashing .155/.219/.207 with five RBI, three doubles, two runs scored and two stolen bases across 68 plate appearances during that span.

    Cardinals' JJ Wetherholt: Selected for Futures Game

    Wetherholt has been selected to represent the Cardinals in the All-Star Futures Game, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

    Wetherholt has been excellent at Double-A Springfield in his first full pro season, slashing .305/.430/.453 with five home runs, 13 stolen bases and a 35:41 K:BB. The No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, Wetherholt dealt with hamstring issues in college at West Virginia, but he has stayed healthy in pro ball. The 22-year-old could be considered for a promotion to Triple-A Memphis soon.

    Reds' Matt McLain: Three hits in loss

    McLain went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Monday's 13-6 loss to Boston.

    McLain has cooled off a bit since he was moved from the bottom of the order to second, but he's still hitting much better than he was through much of April and May. In the eight games since the promotion, McLain is batting .250 (8-for-32) with a home run, a double, four RBI and six runs scored. His .213 batting average is the highest its been since early April.
