  • Red Sox's Kristian Campbell: Makes debut at first base

Campbell started at first base and went 0-for-4 for Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday.

Campbell struck out four times but handled the defensive chores without an issue. It was his third game with the WooSox since the Red Sox sent him down. He served as the designated hitter in the first two contests. Worcester manager Chad Tracy told Christopher Smith of MassLive.com that Campbell will play first base "a few games a week." In addition to first base, Campbell will play second base and center field.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Rangers' Marcus Semien: Logs three hits in win

Semien went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 7-0 win over Baltimore.

Semien doubled and scored the Rangers' first run in the second inning and singled home a run in the fifth. He continued a remarkable turnaround at the plate; Semien sports a .352/.410/.602 line with four home runs, eight doubles, one triple, 15 RBI and 18 runs scored over the last 24 games. He spent 59 games with an average below .200 and is now up to .229, its highest point since Opening Day, when he went 2-for-4.

  • Giants' Christian Koss: Logs RBI in loss

Koss went 0-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 8-5 extra-inning loss to the Marlins.

Koss drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning to tie the game at 2-2. He later scored in the 10th, starting at second base as the automatic runner. The 27-year-old infielder is slashing .200/.188/.400 with four RBI, three runs scored, a home run and a stolen base across 17 plate appearances in June.

  • Zack Gelof 2B | ATH

Athletics' Zack Gelof: Looks set to extend rehab

Gelof (ribs) is expected to continue his rehab assignment at Triple-A Las Vegas for at least another week, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Gelof has yet to make his 2025 debut for the Athletics after undergoing surgery March 24 to repair a fractured hamate bone in his right wrist. He initially began a rehab assignment in late April, but he appeared in just three games before being shut down after suffering a stress reaction in his ribs. The second baseman was cleared to resume full baseball activities a few weeks later, and he began a fresh rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas on June 17. Through his first six games, Gelof has gone 4-for-16 with two doubles, two stolen bases, eight walks, eight runs and one RBI. He looks set to remain with Las Vegas through the early part of next week before potentially returning from the 60-day injured list when the Athletics begin a nine-game homestand July 4.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Hitting streak up to 12 games

Lowe went 2-for-4 in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Royals.

Although it was a quiet night in the run-producing department, Lowe pushed his hitting streak up to 12 games. The slugging second baseman is slashing .396/.431/.563 during that span, adding two home runs, two doubles, six RBI and 10 runs scored. Dating back to May 13, Lowe has maintained a .340 batting average while tallying at least one hit in 34 of 38 games.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | CHW

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Goes yard twice in win

Sosa went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

The second baseman put the White Sox in the lead for good with his fifth long ball of the season in the fourth inning, a two-run homer off Zac Gallen, and he added a solo shot off Tayler Scott in the eighth. It was the first multi-homer game of Sosa's career, and the four RBI were also a personal best. Over nine games since returning from his latest IL stint, he's gone 9-for-30 (.300) with five of those hits going for extra bases (two doubles, a triple and two home runs.)

  • Mauricio Dubon 2B | ATL

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Exiting lineup Wednesday

Dubon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Dating back to June 15, Dubon has slashed .323/.382/.806 with four home runs and three walks over a stretch of nine games, but he may not be locked into an everyday role just yet. He'll take a seat Wednesday for the second time in four games, with his absence from the lineup opening up left field for Taylor Trammell while Jose Altuve covers the keystone.

  • Jose Fermin 2B | STL

Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Moves up from Triple-A

The Cardinals recalled Fermin from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday.

Fermin will join the big club for the first time this season after slashing .308/.431/.483 with five home runs, 19 steals and a 19:37 K:BB over 55 games with Memphis. The 26-year-old has produced a .504 OPS in 66 career contests at the major-league level and will operate primarily as a reserve infielder.

  • Willi Castro RF | CHC

Twins' Willi Castro: Making return to lineup

Castro (wrist) will start at third base and bat third in Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

A sore right wrist had kept Castro out of the lineup for each of the previous three games, but he felt well enough to appear off the bench in Tuesday's 6-5 loss. He checked out fine after going 0-for-2 while playing three innings at second base Tuesday and will now pick up his first start since Saturday. He'll occupy third base in place of a resting Brooks Lee on Wednesday, but Castro could end up seeing most of his playing time at the keystone or in the corner outfield moving forward.

  • Mason McCoy SS | SD

Padres' Mason McCoy: Playing regularly at Triple-A

McCoy (finger) has slashed .353/.400/.627 with three home runs, two stolen bases, 12 RBI and 11 runs in 12 games for Triple-A El Paso since the Padres activated him from the 10-day injured list June 7 and optioned him to the minors.

McCoy appeared in four games for the Padres earlier this season before being placed on the IL on April 29 due to a sprained finger on his left hand. The 30-year-old infielder was cleared to begin a minor-league assignment May 20, and after his 20-day rehab window was nearing its end, the Padres opted to send him to their top affiliate. McCoy could be in the mix for a call-up with San Diego later on this summer if the big club has a need for a utility infielder.
