Alika Williams SS | PIT
Pirates' Alika Williams: Sent down Friday
Williams was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday.
After making the Opening Day roster, Williams has produced a .239 batting average with two triples, a double, two RBI, seven runs scored and a stolen base over 46 at-bats in 15 games with the Pirates so far in 2024, but he'll now head to Indianapolis. In his place, Nick Gonzales was recalled from Triple-A and will likely see most of his work at second base moving forward.

Edouard Julien 2B | COL
Twins' Edouard Julien: Out of starting lineup
Julien is not a starter for Friday's matchup against the Blue Jays.
The lefty batting infielder will get a break as southpaw Yusei Kikuchi takes the mound for Toronto. Kyle Farmer will start at second base and bat seventh in place of Julien.

Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR
Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Gets break Friday
Gimenez is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the White Sox.
The lefty-hitting infielder will get a break as Cleveland takes on southpaw pitcher Garrett Crochet. Gimenez is out of the starting lineup for the first time since April 26, slashing .229/.288/.333 with five RBI and one home run in that 12-game stretch.

Bryson Stott 2B | PHI
Phillies' Bryson Stott: On bench Friday
Stott is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Miami.

Astros' Jacob Amaya: Sent down to Triple-A
Amaya was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
The move will make room for Grae Kessinger (shoulder), who was activated from the 10-day IL, on the active roster. Amaya failed to reach base safely in his only big league at-bat this season.

Colt Keith 3B | DET
Tigers' Colt Keith: Idle Friday
Keith is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Houston.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | HOU
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Showing improvement
Rodgers went 1-for-4 with a run scored Thursday against the Giants.
Rodgers played his part in a seven-run fourth inning for Colorado by reaching base on a single and coming around to score. It was an otherwise unremarkable game, but he has at least one hit in 11 of his last 13 starts and has hit .313 (15-for-48) with a homer, five RBI and six runs scored in that span. Rodgers still has a poor .632 OPS for the season, but he is showing signs of life at the plate.

Luis Rengifo 3B | LAA
Angels' Luis Rengifo: Sidelined by illness
Rengifo (illness) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday.
Rengifo has been held out of the lineup for five straight games with the illness, so his stint on the injured list will be retroactive to May 6. Kyren Paris was recalled from Double-A Rocket City in a corresponding move and should take over in a utility role while Rengifo is sidelined.

Brandon Drury 1B | CHW
Angels' Brandon Drury: Placed on injured list
Drury (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday.
Drury exited Wednesday's game after dealing with tightness in his hamstring, an issue he first dealt with in mid-April. He'll be sidelined for at least the next 10 days, leaving Luis Guillorme as the Angels' projected starting second baseman in the short term.

Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU
Angels' Luis Guillorme: In Thursday's lineup
Guillorme will hit eighth and play second base Thursday against the Royals.
The Angels acquired Guillorme Thursday and he'll immediately be set for his debut with the team. With Brandon Drury (hamstring) landing on the injured list, Guillorme could be in line for regular playing time in the short term.
