Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL
Angels' Luis Rengifo: Exits in first inning
Rengifo exited Thursday's game against the Guardians in the first inning, Sarah Valenzuela of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Rengifo was in on the deck circle prior to his first at-bat when he was visited by a trainer and exited the game. It's unclear what occurred or what the injury may be. Randal Grichuk entered the game as a pinch hitter.

Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA
Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Another start at second base
Edwards is again starting at second base and batting seventh Thursday against the Dodgers.
Luis Arraez will again play first base, with Josh Bell filling the DH role, as the Marlins cope with Jorge Soler (oblique) being placed on the injured list Wednesday. Edwards has gone 11-for-31 (.355) with two doubles and one stolen base through his first 12 major-league games this year, building on an impressive overall summer with Triple-A Jacksonville. Miami could continue to give the 23-year-old semi-regular looks at second base and in the outfield.

Luis Garcia 2B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Returning to majors
Garcia is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Rochester ahead of Friday's series opener against the Dodgers, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
Garcia has slashed just .268/.315/.381 with one homer and two steals in 25 games since being demoted to Triple-A in early August, but the Nationals will give him another major-league opportunity as they look ahead to 2024 and beyond. Jake Alu has been getting most of the starts at second base in recent weeks, but he could shift more into an outfield role as the Nats deal with injuries in that area of the depth chart.

Taylor Motter 2B | STL
Cardinals' Taylor Motter: Outrighted to Triple-A
Motter cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday.
Motter could elect free agency if he wants since this is the third time he's been outrighted this season, but it would appear he's opted to remain in the Cardinals organization. The 33-year-old will provide utility player depth at Triple-A.

Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR
Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Doubles, swipes bag in win
Gimenez went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's win over the Twins.
Gimenez hit an automatic double to lead off the bottom of the second before coming around to score Cleveland's first run on a Will Brennan single. The second baseman would come around to score a second time in the fourth after stealing second and has now swiped a bag in three of five games to open the month. Gimenez has also recorded two hits in two of his last three games and is currently batting .294 in September with one RBI and four runs scored.

Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Knocks another homer
Gorman went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, a walk, a stolen base and three total runs in an 11-6 win against Atlanta on Wednesday.
After snapping a 16-game homer drought with a pair of long balls Tuesday, Gorman went deep again Wednesday, smashing a 414-foot, three-run shot in the eighth inning to cap a big offensive night by the Cardinals. Prior to the two-game power surge, Gorman had been struggling mightily, batting .169 with a 40.6 percent strikeout rate since the start of August. The punchouts haven't gone away -- Gorman has six over his past three contests -- but it's hard to complain about those since he's knocked in eight runs over that stretch.

Ronny Mauricio 2B | NYM
Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Extends hot start
Mauricio went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in a loss to the Nationals on Wednesday.
Mauricio extended his hitting streak to five games to begin his career with a second-inning single, which he promptly followed with a stolen base. The rookie added another single in the sixth for his third multi-hit performance. Mauricio has yet go deep in the majors, but he's otherwise been impressive with a .421/.421/.474 slash line and three thefts through 19 plate appearances.

Brandon Drury 2B | KC
Angels' Brandon Drury: Produces three hits in loss
Drury went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and one run scored in Wednesday's 10-3 loss to the Orioles.
Drury has gone 14-for-49 (.286) over his last 12 contests while mainly playing at second base. He came up a home run shy of the cycle Wednesday. The 31-year-old infielder is at a .268/.309/.493 slash line with 20 homers, 67 RBI, 50 runs scored, 24 doubles and three triples through 104 contests this year as one of the bright spots in the Angels' lineup.

Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL
Angels' Luis Rengifo: Homers in loss
Rengifo went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 10-3 loss to the Orioles.
Rengifo got the Angels on the board with his third-inning blast, but they never threatened for a comeback. The 26-year-old has been one of the team's hottest hitters lately -- he extended his hitting streak to 14 games, a span in which he's gone 25-for-56 (.446) with nine extra-base hits. Rengifo is up to a .264/.339/.444 slash line with 16 homers, 51 RBI, 55 runs scored and six stolen bases through 125 contests. He needs one more homer and one more RBI to match his career-best totals from last year.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Fills box score
Semien went 4-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 12-3 loss to the Astros.
Semien was the only Ranger to get comfortable in this contest versus Justin Verlander and the Astros. Semien hit solo shots in the first and eighth innings and added an RBI single in the fifth to account for all of Texas' runs. The second baseman had gone 11 games without a homer and 13 without a steal prior to Wednesday. For the season, he's at a strong .277/.350/.463 slash line with 22 long balls, 14 thefts, 85 RBI and 104 runs scored through 139 contests.
