Will Wagner 2B | TOR
Blue Jays' Will Wagner: Out of Wednesday's lineup
Wagner is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
Wagner has gone 5-for-8 with three doubles, three RBI and a run in his first two MLB games this season, but he'll take a seat for Wednesday's series finale in Anaheim. Addison Barger will enter the lineup in Wagner's place against Angels lefty Tyler Anderson.

Brandon Drury 2B | LAA
Angels' Brandon Drury: Resting Wednesday
Drury isn't in the Angels' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Drury has gone 4-for-18 with two RBI and two runs scored over his last six games and will take a seat for Wednesday's matchup against Jose Berrios. Michael Stefanic will take over at the keystone and bat ninth.

Vidal Brujan 2B | MIA
Marlins' Vidal Brujan: Heading to bench Wednesday
Brujan is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.
Brujan will hit the bench for the series finale in Philadelphia after he had started in each of Miami's last three games while going 1-for-8 with a solo home run and a walk. The switch-hitting Brujan should have a regular spot in the lineup versus right-handed pitching, but his spot in the everyday lineup may not be fully secure just yet.

Zack Gelof 2B | OAK
Athletics' Zack Gelof: Reaches twice Tuesday
Gelof went 1-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in a win over the Mets on Tuesday.
Gelof operated out of the No. 7 spot in the order and continued his recent encouraging stretch of hitting. The steal was also Gelof's first in the six games since he recorded pilfers in back-to-back contests Aug. 4-5. Gelof has edged his season average back over the Mendoza Line to .202 with the surge, but he still has plenty of ground to make up over the last month and a half of the regular season to even get into the neighborhood of his rookie-season figures of a .267 average and .841 OPS.

Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Absent from lineup
Gorman is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Cincinnati, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
Gorman had started each of the last six games versus right-handers, but he'll begin Wednesday's contest on the bench as the Reds go with a right-handed opening pitcher in Emilio Pagan and a right-handed bulk reliever in Carson Spiers. Brendan Donovan will handle second base for the Cardinals.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Sitting out with ankle sprain
Marte (ankle) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Rockies, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Marte aggravated a low-grade left ankle sprain in Monday's 5-4 win and will now miss out on a second straight start against Colorado. He is expected to avoid the injured list, and with a team off day coming Thursday, it's possible Marte will be ready to play this weekend at Tampa Bay. Blaze Alexander was called up from Triple-A Reno and will start at second base Wednesday as the Diamondbacks look to complete a sweep.

Michael Massey 2B | KC
Royals' Michael Massey: Sitting for series finale
Massey is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.
Though Massey has produced multiple hits in three of his last six starts, the Royals will hold him out of the lineup for the series finale, even while Minnesota sends a right-hander (Louie Varland) to the hill. With Massey on the bench, the Royals will go with Adam Frazier at second base and in the leadoff spot.

Thairo Estrada 2B | SF
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Begins rehab assignment
Estrada (wrist) went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a hit-by-pitch in his first rehab game with Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.
Estrada has been shelved for nearly three weeks with a sprained left wrist but is almost ready to rejoin the Giants' active roster. Because he hasn't missed much time, Estrada would appear likely to be activated for the weekend series in Oakland which begins Saturday. Once he's back, Estrada should see the bulk of the reps at second base for San Francisco.

Colt Keith 2B | DET
Tigers' Colt Keith: Another two-hit game
Keith went 2-for-4 with two runs scored Tuesday in the Tigers' 15-1 win over the Mariners.
Keith has produced consecutive two-hit games to begin the four-game series with the Mariners, bringing his slash line up to .253/301/.356 since the All-Star break. Though Keith hasn't provided the power production he demonstrated in the minors in 2023 -- he slugged 27 home runs between Triple-A Toledo and Double-A Erie -- he's made contact at a steady enough clip (17.8 percent strikeout rate) to keep his batting average afloat.
