Red Sox's Yoan Moncada: A Carolina League All-Star

Moncada has been chosen to represent High-A Salem in the Carolina League All-Star game, MiLB.com reports.

Moncada, the consensus No. 1 prospect in Boston's organization, is hitting .299 in 55 games for Salem. He leads the Carolina League in double (21), walks (40), on-base percentage (.421) and stolen bases (34).

  • Trevor Plouffe 3B | PHI

Twins' Trevor Plouffe: Homers in Wednesday's win

Plouffe went 2-for-4 with his fourth home run in Wednesday's win over Miami.

Plouffe may finally be heating up at the plate after a slow start (.246 with a .642 OPS and four home runs in April and May) as he's 7-for-25 in June. It was his first home run since May 10.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Indians' Jose Ramirez: Late scratch Wednesday

Ramirez (left ankle contusion) was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

In his place, the Indians will start Michael Martinez at second base, batting ninth. Ramirez was on the Indians' original lineup card for Wednesday's game before being scratched hours before the contest. The bruised left ankle seems to be an isolated incident, but he did suffer an ankle sprain during winter ball season last December.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Blue Jays' Josh Donaldson: Records three hits versus Tigers

Donaldson went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and three runs in a 7-2 victory over the Tigers on Wednesday.

This is the kind of game owners wanted from Donaldson, as he entered Wednesday hitless in his last 10 at-bats. The Blue Jays' third baseman was a single away from the cycle, and he scored all three times he reached base. He is slashing .255/.367/.518 with 14 homers, 33 RBI and 46 runs in 220 at-bats.

  • Danny Valencia 3B | BAL

Athletics' Danny Valencia: Out again Wednesday

Valencia (illness) is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Brewers.

A stomach bug has kept Valencia out of the lineup the last two days, but he may benefit from Oakland's off day Thursday for a chance to potentially return at some point during the weekend series in Cincinnati. Yonder Alonso will once again slide across the infield and take over at third base in Valencia's absence.

  • Orioles' Manny Machado: Back in lineup Wednesday

Machado is in Wednesday's lineup against the Royals.

Machado was ejected from Tuesday's contest after charging the mound and landing a punch on Yordano Ventura, and though the 23-year-old likely faces a suspension, no ruling has been issued as of Wednesday. He'll draw the start at shortstop and bat third against Edinson Volquez.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Rays' Evan Longoria: Returns to lineup Wednesday

Longoria is back in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Longoria got his first day off of the season Tuesday, but the veteran will be back for Wednesday's series finale in the desert. The veteran third baseman was on a tear leading up to his much-deserved off-day Tuesday, clubbing five home runs in a four-game span over the weekend. He'll bat third in the order Wednesday against Archie Bradley.

  • Orioles' Manny Machado: Ejected in fifth inning Tuesday

Machado was ejected in the fifth inning of Tuesday's game against the Royals.

Machado was tossed from the contest after charging the mound and landing a punch on Royals starter Yordano Ventura in response to Ventura hitting him with a pitch. The landed punch may have some repercussions for the star infielder, but in the immediate future, Machado should be able to re-enter the lineup for Wednesday's matchup with Kansas City. Prior to being ejected, Machado was 1-for-2 with an RBI double and a run.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Rays' Evan Longoria: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Longoria is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 30-year-old will get what looks like a well-deserved rest day after starting 56 straight to open the 2016 campaign. Longoria has been red hot of late, hitting safely in 10 straight games (six home runs over that span) to raise his batting line to .281/.335/.540. He will be replaced at third base by Taylor Motter.

  • Danny Valencia 3B | BAL

Athletics' Danny Valencia: Out with illness Tuesday

Valencia is being held out of Tuesday's lineup with a stomach bug, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.

Valencia has been on fire, batting .429 in June after ending May with nine hits over the final four games of the month, but he'll be sidelined for at least one game with the illness. Yonder Alonso will handle the hot corner duties in his place Tuesday, but it doesn't appear at this time as though Valencia's situation is anything overly serious.
