White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Swats solo shot
Sosa went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and a double in Wednesday's 4-3 win against the Angels.
Sosa broke a 2-2 tie with a solo homer to left field in the fourth inning. It was his third long ball over his past eight games, a span during which he's batting .360 (9-for-25) with five RBI and five runs. Sosa's hot stretch has extended beyond that span, as he's hitting .373 overall in September.

Caminero went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 7-1 loss to the Tigers.
Caminero took Keider Montero deep in the third inning for his fifth home run of the season. The 21-year-old Caminero has been a full-time starter at the hot corner since being called up Aug. 13, slashing .250/.306/.426 with five home runs, 15 RBI, 13 runs scored and two stolen bases in 39 games.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Plays hero with 38th homer
Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run, a double, a triple and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Reds.
Ramirez fell just a single shy of the cycle and broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning with a three-run blast off Emilio Pagan. Over his past 10 games, the third baseman has gone deep three times while tallying six multi-hit efforts. He trails his single-season homer total of 39 by one while hitting .279 with 115 RBI and career highs in runs (113) and steals (40) across 674 plate appearances.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Angels' Anthony Rendon: Unlikely to play again in 2024
Rendon (oblique) hasn't yet been ruled out from returning this season, though Angels manager Ron Washington suggested Tuesday that the third baseman's return is unlikely, Andrew Seligman of the Associated Press reports.
Rendon last played for Los Angeles on Sept. 7. He subsequently missed two games due to what was originally diagnosed as a sore back, and despite initially being expected to be out just a few days, Rendon was eventually moved to the injured list and deemed to be suffering from a left oblique strain. Washington wouldn't entirely commit Tuesday to Rendon being done for the season, though the manager implied that will be the likely outcome, saying, "We haven't made a total decision on that yet, but we're still working through it. I think you make a common-sense deduction, you can answer that one yourself." If Rendon's season is in fact over, he'll finish with a .218/.307/.267 slash line, no home runs, 14 RBI, 21 runs and six stolen bases over 57 games. Since joining the Angels on a seven-year, $245 million contract in 2020, Rendon hasn't played more than 58 games in any of his five campaigns.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
Mariners' Josh Rojas: Idle against southpaw
Rojas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.
The left-handed-hitting Rojas will take a seat for the second day in a row while Houston sends another southpaw (Yusei Kikuchi) to the bump. Dylan Moore will spell Rojas at third base.

Ramon Urias 2B | HOU
Orioles' Ramon Urias: Homers in win
Urias went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Yankees.
Urias has started at third base and hit safely in both games since he returned from an ankle injury. His defense will likely be enough to keep him in the lineup on a regular basis heading into the postseason, though he's also batting a passable .259 (21-for-81) over 29 games since the start of August. Urias is at a .252/.325/.433 slash line, 11 homers, 36 RBI, 35 runs scored and one stolen base over 283 plate appearances this season.

Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Astros' Alex Bregman: Opens scoring with homer
Bregman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Mariners.
Bregman gave the Astros an early lead with his first-inning homer. He's gone deep three times over his last five games while adding seven RBI and five runs scored in that span. The third baseman is up to 26 homers this season, his most in the last five years. Bregman has added 74 RBI, 79 runs, three stolen bases and a .257/.314/.449 slash line over 143 contests this season.

Ezequiel Duran SS | TEX
Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Placed on paternity list
The Rangers placed Duran on the paternity list Tuesday.
Duran will be allowed to miss up to three games while he spends time with his growing family, and he's expected to take over for Josh Jung (wrist) as the Rangers' primary third baseman once he returns. In the meantime, Dustin Harris and Matt Duffy will come up from Triple-A Round Rock to help replenish Texas' infield depth.

Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Placed on injured list
The Rangers placed Jung on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with right wrist tendinitis.
Jung's wrist has kept him sidelined for nearly a week, and his move to the IL will officially rule him out for the remainder of the season. With Ezequiel Duran away on paternity leave, Matt Duffy and Dustin Harris will come up from the minors and may see time at third base during the final week of the season.
