  • Miguel Vargas 2B | CHW

White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Swats homer

Vargas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 2-1 loss to Texas.

Vargas was the lone source of offense for the White Sox on Sunday, clubbing a solo homer in the sixth inning off of Jacob Webb. The round tripper extended Vargas' hit streak to five games. During that stretch, he's 7-for-20 with three doubles, a triple and five runs scored. He's now hit 10 home runs in a season for the first time in his four-year career.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

Angels' Yoan Moncada: Hitting only off tee

Moncada (knee) is limited to taking swings off a tee from the left side and didn't travel with the Angels on their current road trip, MLB.com reports.

The switch hitter landed on the injured list June 2 due to right knee inflammation and hasn't yet been able to resume swinging a bat from the right side of the plate. Moncada may be reassessed when the Angels return home Friday. His timeline for a return remains uncertain, but late June appears to be a best-case scenario for him to be activated.

  • Rays' Junior Caminero: Slugs 17th homer

Caminero went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer, two walks and two additional runs scored in Sunday's 9-0 win at the Mets.

The 21-year-old popped a 365-foot homer off reliever Ryne Stanek in the ninth inning to notch his second consecutive game with a long ball. Prior to this contest, Caminero had been cold in June with a .152/.264/.391 slash line across 53 plate appearances, so perhaps this is a sign of him turning a corner. Through 281 total plate appearances, the Tampa Bay third baseman is slashing .246/.292/.500 with 45 RBI and 41 runs scored over 67 games.

  • Mariners' Ben Williamson: Getting Sunday off

Williamson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Miles Mastrobuoni will cover third base in the series finale while Williamson sits after starting each of the Mariners' last eight games. Williamson is batting a credible .256 over 50 games since earning a call-up from Triple-A Tacoma on April 13, but he isn't providing much in the way of fantasy juice. He's logged just one home run and two stolen bases, and both his run (25) and RBI (13) totals have been weighted down due to the fact that he typically bats eighth or ninth in the order.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Off for 'mental day'

Jung is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Jung is batting .143 (7-for-49) with 16 strikeouts since the start of June, so manager Bruce Bochy decided to give the third baseman a "mental day" to reset, per Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News. Ezequiel Duran will fill in at third base.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Astros' Isaac Paredes: Sitting again Sunday

Paredes (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Manager Joe Espada said after Paredes suffered a hamstring injury Thursday that the third baseman could miss a few additional games, so it's not a significant surprise he's on the bench Sunday. Luis Guillorme is starting at the hot corner.

  • Marcelo Mayer SS | BOS

Red Sox's Marcelo Mayer: Idle against lefty Sunday

Mayer is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

The Red Sox have faced left-handed starting pitchers in all three games of the series with the Yankees, and Mayer has been on the bench for two of them. The rookie will cede third base to Abraham Toro on Sunday as the Red Sox look to get some extra right-handed bats in the lineup.

  • Ramon Urias 2B | HOU

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Maintaining steady role

Urias will start at third base and bat second in Sunday's game against the Angels.

Jordan Westburg's return from the injured list Tuesday hasn't cut into Urias' playing time, as the veteran infielder will pick up his fourth start in five contests Sunday. Urias has turned in a respectable .740 OPS so far in June, and he should be in store for semi-regular starts at least until Tyler O'Neill (shoulder) is back from the injured list.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Goes on IL on Sunday

The Twins placed Lewis (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Sunday.

A left hamstring strain will force Lewis to the IL for the second time this season, after he previously missed the first five and a half weeks of the campaign. Though the recurring nature of the injury is troubling, the Twins are hoping Lewis's absence won't be as lengthy this time around after an MRI revealed that his latest strain is of the mild variety. Even so, he'll likely to miss more than the minimum 10 days. With Brooks Lee and Willi Castro already playing nearly every day at other positions, Jonah Bride could end up seeing the biggest uptick in playing time while Lewis is sidelined.

  • Brooks Lee SS | MIN

Twins' Brooks Lee: Accounts for team's only runs

Lee went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Astros on Saturday.

Minnesota's offense was held to three hits in the contest, but Lee kept the game close with his two-run blast off Hunter Brown in the fifth inning. The long ball extended Lee's hitting streak to 14 games, and he's batting .321 (18-for-56) with two homers, nine RBI, seven runs and a stolen base over that span. With Royce Lewis (hamstring) headed for the injured list, Lee should be set for an everyday role at third base for at least the short-term.
