  • Abraham Toro 3B | OAK

Athletics' Abraham Toro: Logs full game at Triple-A

Toro (hamstring) started and played a full game at third base for Triple-A Las Vegas in its loss to Salt Lake on Saturday, going 2-for-4 with a run.

Toro led off and kept up the hot hitting he'd flashed while putting in three rehab appearances with the ACL Athletics over the All-Star break. The ability of the 27-year-old to both play a full game and hit well versus a higher caliber of competition certainly bodes well for Toro's chances of activation from the IL following his second scheduled game with the Aviators on Sunday.

  • Jose Miranda 3B | MIN

Twins' Jose Miranda: Needs more time on IL

Miranda (back) has improved but he will need several more days before he returns from the injured list, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Miranda was eligible to return from the IL on Sunday, but it may be until later in the week before he returns. He may need a short rehab stint at Triple-A St. Paul, according to the report.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Could begin rehab assignment soon

Lewis (adductor) is expected to head out on a brief minor-league rehab assignment next week, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Lewis started running and taking batting practice during the All-Star break, and he may need only a few games in the minors before he's activated from the 10-day injured list. He's on the IL for the second time this season, after he had previously missed nearly 10 weeks due to a strained right quadricep, which he suffered Opening Day.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Belts homer Saturday

Westburg went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional run in an 8-4 win against the Rangers on Saturday.

Westburg led a big performance by the bottom half of Baltimore's lineup, as the team's No. 6 through No. 9 hitters went a combined 9-for-16. The three-hit performance was Westburg's first multi-hit effort over his past nine contests and snapped a four-game hitless streak during which he had gone 0-for-15. The second baseman is up to 16 homers and 52 RBI on the campaign while slashing .273/.318/.500 through 378 plate appearances.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | SEA

Mariners' Josh Rojas: Idle against lefty

Rojas is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros.

Left-handed hitters Rojas and Luke Raley will take a seat Saturday with southpaw Framber Valdez on the mound for Houston. Dylan Moore will cover third base Saturday. Rojas is slashing .244/.322/.356 across 301 plate appearances this season.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | CHC

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Homers in win

Paredes went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Saturday's 9-1 win over the Yankees.

Paredes homered to lead off the fifth inning and then walked and scored a run in the seventh. The 25-year-old has gone hitless in eight of 14 July contests but has still managed three homers and eight RBI despite his struggles. On the year, he's batting .258 with 16 home runs, 51 RBI and 38 runs scored across 394 plate appearances.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | CHW

White Sox's Nick Senzel: Sitting Saturday

Senzel is not in the starting lineup against the Royals on Saturday.

Senzel will head to the bench after he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Friday's 7-1 loss. Paul DeJong will slide over to third base while Nicky Lopez enters the lineup at shortstop and bats seventh versus Kansas City.

  • Abraham Toro 3B | OAK

Athletics' Abraham Toro: Moves rehab to Triple-A

Toro (hamstring) had his rehab assignment shifted to Triple-A Las Vegas and will play at least two games with the Aviators before being re-evaluated, the Associated Press reports.

Toro played three games for the ACL Athletics during the All-Star break and went 3-for-8 with a grand slam and two walks over that span. Now that the rest of the minor-league affiliates are back in action, the team wants to see how Toro does against a higher caliber of competition this weekend before evaluating him for possible activation from an IL stint that dates back to June 21.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Nabs steal Friday

Garcia went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the White Sox.

After an uninspiring June, Garcia has steadied himself in July, batting .250 (9-for-36) over 12 contests. His steal Friday was his first since he swiped two bags June 28. The infielder is at a .231/.284/.344 slash line with 22 steals, six home runs, 43 RBI, 56 runs scored, 15 doubles and five triples over 96 games this season. Garcia's counting stats are likely to be less notable during the second half if he remains near the bottom of the order, as he's been replaced by Adam Frazier as the Royals' leadoff hitter against right-handed pitchers.

  • Addison Barger 3B | TOR

Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Returns to Toronto

The Blue Jays recalled Barger from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

A calf strain sent Bo Bichette to the injured list Saturday, so Barger will now rejoin the big-league squad in order to give the Jays a glove that can play in both the infield and outfield. The 24-year-old has slashed .260/.391/.466 across 248 plate appearances in Triple-A this season. However, he's posted just a .360 OPS through 20 games in the majors.
