Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Indians' Jose Ramirez: Getting looked at by doctors
Ramirez won't start Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against Detroit and will go to the hospital to have his face evaluated, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports. Manager Terry Francona said that Ramirez is expected to be "fine" after fouling a pitch off his face during Game 1 of the twin bill.
Ramirez was initially able to remain in the game after he fouled a pitch off his cheek in the fifth inning. He was later replaced by Owen Miller in the top of the seventh, but it sounds like that was mainly a precautionary move with Cleveland trailing 7-4. Ramirez won't start Game 2 as he gets evaluated by doctors, but based on Francona's initial update, he doesn't appear likely to face an extended absence.

Yankees' Gio Urshela: Takes seat Wednesday

Twins' Jose Miranda: Superb in Triple-A debut
Miranda went 5-for-6 with three home runs, a double, four runs and six RBI in Triple-A St. Paul's 15-4 win over St. Paul on Tuesday.
After getting called up from Double-A Wichita on Monday, Miranda made his Triple-A debut Tuesday, and it couldn't have gone any better. A relatively unheralded prospect heading into 2021, Miranda has put himself in the conversation for a second-half call-up after dazzling at Double-A and in his first game at Triple-A. Over 224 plate appearances between the two affiliates, Miranda has supplied a .360/.420/.645 slash line while striking out only 11.2 percent of the time.

Royals' Emmanuel Rivera: Placed on injured list
Rivera was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left hamate fracture Wednesday.
Rivera was removed from Tuesday's game against the Red Sox due to pain in his left wrist. While the Royals haven't indicated when the third baseman could return, he could require more than 10 days on the shelf since he's been diagnosed with a fracture. Hanser Alberto could see increased playing time in his absence, while Edward Olivares was recalled from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move.

Astros' Abraham Toro: Drives in three
Toro went 1-for-3 with three RBI in Tuesday's 13-3 loss to the Orioles.
Toro delivered runs with a sacrifice fly in the second inning and a two-run single in the fifth, which tied the game at that time. He continues to be the primary fill-in at third base for Alex Bregman (quadriceps), who reported good news from an ultrasound Tuesday. Houston's starting third baseman said the procedure revealed he's ahead of schedule in his return timeline. The initial timeline had Bregman returning by the end of July.
