Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Headed to IL
Moncada will be placed on the 10-day injured list with a Grade 1 hamstring strain, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Moncada exited Tuesday's game with a hamstring injury, and a follow-up MRI confirmed the issue is serious enough to warrant a stay on the shelf. The expectation is that Moncada will miss around two weeks with the injury. Ryan Goins is starting at third base in his place Wednesday and will likely benefit from increased playing time in Moncada's absence.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Out Wednesday with tight hamstring
Moncada (hamstring) is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Mets.
He exited Tuesday's game with right hamstring tightness and will need at least one day off. Ryan Goins is starting at third base and hitting second.

Gio Urshela 3B | MIN
Yankees' Gio Urshela: Should benefit from Voit's absence
Urshela will start at third base and bat sixth Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.
Urshela will fill in for the injured DJ LeMahieu (groin) at the hot corner for a fourth straight game after piling up eight hits across the prior three contests. The Yankees are optimistic LeMahieu will rejoin the lineup for the series with Boston during the upcoming weekend, but Urshela could stick in the everyday lineup moving forward after first baseman Luke Voit was diagnosed with a sports hernia and placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday. Look for the Yankees to fill out the two corner-infield spots and designated hitter with some combination of Edwin Encarnacion, LeMahieu and Urshela at least until the team gets one of Voit, Brett Gardner (knee) or Giancarlo Stanton (knee) back from the IL.

Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA
White Sox's Nick Madrigal: Promoted to Triple-A
Madrigal was promoted to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
The 22-year-old second baseman was hitting .341/.400/.451 with a 5:14 K:BB in 164 plate appearances at Double-A. Madrigal has otherworldly bat-to-ball skills, but he is limited to gap power, so he could profile as a future leadoff hitter in the big leagues. For fantasy purposes, the potential for a very high batting average, 90-plus runs and 15-25 steals is the selling point. He will likely finish out the year at Triple-A and should take over as the everyday second baseman in Chicago in early 2020.

DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Not starting Wednesday
LeMahieu (groin) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
He'll stay on the bench for a third consecutive game while continuing to recover from the low-grade groin strain he sustained over the weekend against the Red Sox. Though the Yankees are labeling him as day-to-day, LeMahieu hasn't been used off the bench in either of the past two games, perhaps suggesting that a trip to the injured list is still under consideration. Gio Urshela will once again cover third base in LeMahieu's stead.

Rafael Devers 1B | SF
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Reaches top of AL
Devers went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Rays.
Devers walked off the field Tuesday with a .332 batting average, tying him for the AL lead with the Yankees' DJ LeMahieu. The 22-year-old third baseman is enjoying a breakout campaign and shows no signs of letting up. Since the beginning of May, Devers is slashing .344/.383/.647 over 75 games.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Out with tight hamstring
Moncada exited Tuesday's game against the Mets with right hamstring tightness, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Moncada was able to leave the field under his own power and should be considered day-to-day. According to Van Schouwen, the 24-year-old was receiving attention from the athletic trainer prior to batting practice, so it looks as though he attempted to play through the issue. Ryan Goins has taken over at third base for the White Sox.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Sitting Tuesday
Candelario is not starting Tuesday against the Angels.
Candelario has gone 3-for-26 at the plate over his last seven games. Harold Castro starts at the hot corner in his absence.
-
DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Sits again Tuesday
LeMahieu is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.
LeMahieu hasn't played since Friday while dealing with a low-grade groin strain. He's been considered day-to-day, but the fact that he's still not ready to go following Monday's scheduled off day is at least mildly concerning. LeMahieu himself doesn't appear to be particularly worried, however, as he expects to be back in action Wednesday, per Lindsey Adler of The Athletic. Gio Urshela starts at third base in his absence.

Matt Duffy 3B | TEX
Rays' Matt Duffy: Hitting well since debut
Duffy, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a walk in a win over the Blue Jays on Sunday, is 6-for-21 with two doubles, two RBI and two walks over his first five games since making his season debut July 23.
The oft-injured veteran has been thrust right into an everyday opportunity at third base with Yandy Diaz (foot) on the injured list. That he's been able to display solid timing at the plate after such a delayed season debut is certainly encouraging, and Duffy is making a strong early case to force manager Kevin Cash's hand to continue affording him steady playing time even when Diaz returns to health.
