  • Graham Pauley 3B | MIA

Marlins' Graham Pauley: Clubs first homer in loss

Pauley went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 6-3 loss against the Giants.

Pauley connected on his first homer of 2026, clubbing a Landen Roupp curveball over the right-field wall in the second inning to give the Marlins a 3-0 advantage, though they wouldn't score again and ultimately relinquished the lead. Pauley's .621 OPS through 64 plate appearances isn't much to write home about, though he's currently riding a four-game hitting streak and should continue to see sizable playing time at the hot corner against right-handed pitching.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Getting planned off day

Muncy (illness) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs, Jack Harris of the California Post reports.

Muncy started Saturday despite feeling under the weather and clubbed an early homer before being lifted in the fourth inning. The ailment apparently isn't responsible for Muncy's absence from the lineup Sunday, however, as he was scheduled for a day off versus Chicago lefty Shota Imanaga. Santiago Espinal is picking up a start at third base in the series finale.

  • Diamondbacks' Ildemaro Vargas: Moves to short Saturday

Vargas started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Padres.

Vargas extended his season-opening hit streak to 19 games (.351/.368/.649) with a second-inning single. He later moved to shortstop when Geraldo Perdomo (ankle) was removed in the seventh inning. Either Vargas or Jose Fernandez could fill in for Perdomo, if the injury prevents him from playing Sunday.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Battling illness, exits in fourth

Muncy was removed from Saturday's game against the Cubs in the fourth inning due to an apparent illness, Jack Harris of the California Post reports.

Manager Dave Roberts mentioned prior to Saturday's game that Muncy was battling an illness, and after Muncy walked in the bottom of the fourth inning, Santiago Espinal came on to run for him. Before leaving, Muncy went 1-for-1 with a two-run homer and a pair of walks. It will be worth monitoring to see if he's available for Sunday's series finale.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Officially lands on IL

The Reds placed Suarez (oblique) on the 10-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to April 24.

Suarez is dealing with a "mild" left oblique strain and will miss at least 10 days, though it's not clear at this point if his absence will extend longer. Suarez has spent most of his time this season at DH, and Cincinnati could deploy different hitters in that spot while the veteran slugger is out. Nathaniel Lowe got the start at DH on Friday and could be the biggest beneficiary in terms of playing time.

  • Padres' Sung-Mun Song: Up as 27th man

The Padres recalled Song from Triple-A El Paso on Saturday.

The Padres will be allowed to carry a 27th man on their roster during the Mexico City Series against Arizona, so Song will join the big club to provide extra infield depth. The 29-year-old has slashed .293/.369/.320 with 12 RBI and nine runs scored through 20 Triple-A games and will be making his MLB debut if he gets into a game this weekend.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Cubs' Alex Bregman: Ties game with homer

Bregman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-4 win over the Dodgers.

This was his first homer since March 29 versus the Nationals. Bregman's blast tied the game at 4-4 in the eighth inning to help the Cubs in their comeback effort. While he hasn't been hitting for much power, he's gotten on base in 13 of the last 14 games, batting .328 (20-for-61) with a 7:11 BB:K in that span. Bregman is up to three homers, 10 RBI, eight runs scored, three doubles, one triple and a stolen base while batting .266 with a .735 OPS through 26 contests on the year.

  • Brady House 3B | WAS

Nationals' Brady House: Goes deep in loss Friday

House went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI in Friday's 5-4 loss to the White Sox.

House took a Jordan Leasure slider over the fence to lead off the top of the eighth inning to tie the game 4-4. It was House's third long ball of the season and first since April 6. He's now got a six-game hitting streak and owns a .240/.284/.375 slash line with 10 RBI, 12 runs scored, one stolen base and a 6:32 BB:K across 102 plate appearances.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Bound for injured list

The Reds will place Suarez on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a low-grade oblique strain, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

The Reds initially announced that Suarez was dealing with mid-back pain when they scratched him from the lineup ahead of Friday's game. Further evaluation revealed that the 34-year-old infielder suffered an oblique injury and will have to spend time on the injured list because of it. The team hasn't yet provided a return timeline for him, but because his injury is labeled as "low-grade," he may not need to spend much more than the minimum 10 days on the shelf. In the meantime, Nathaniel Lowe figures to step in as Cincinnati's primary designated hitter against right-handers.

  • Nicky Lopez 2B | TEX

    Cubs' Nicky Lopez: Contract selected

The Cubs selected Lopez's contract from Triple-A Iowa on Friday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

The Cubs acquired Lopez in a trade with Colorado on Thursday, and they'll now bring him up to provide depth to their infield unit. The 31-year-old appeared in 14 games for Chicago last season but logged just one hit in 18 at-bats. Porter Hodge (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.
