Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Out of lineup
Hayes isn't in the Pirates' lineup Tuesday against San Diego, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Brewers' Brian Anderson: Sitting amid slump
Anderson is not in the lineup Monday versus the Mets.
Blake Perkins will start in right field and bat eighth against the Mets and right-hander Justin Verlander. Luis Urias is handling third base and hitting seventh. Anderson got off to an excellent start this season with the Brewers but has slashed just .160/.292/.227 over his last 89 plate appearances dating back to late May.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Marlins' Jean Segura: Makes return from IL
The Marlins reinstated Segura (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Monday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Miami optioned Garrett Hampson and Jacob Amaya to Triple-A Jacksonville to make room for the returns of two everyday players in Segura and Jazz Chisholm (toe), who was also brought back from the 10-day injured list. Before he was deactivated June 17 due to the left hamstring strain, Segura had been one of the majors' worst-performing regulars, as he mustered a lowly .190/.259/.234 slash line over 225 plate appearances. With the Marlins currently finding themselves atop the National League wild-card standings entering play Monday, Segura may not have a long leash on a spot in Miami's regular lineup if he continues to struggle at the plate in his return to action.

Nationals' Jeimer Candelario: Drives in three runs
Candelario went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, three runs scored and three RBI in Sunday's victory over the Padres.
Candelario wasted no time opening the game's scoring with his first-inning solo shot before later adding a two-run double. The 29-year-old has started to pick things up over his last 10 games, going 13-for-35 (.371) with nine extra-base knocks and eight runs scored. Davis went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBI in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Davis has hit safely in four of his last six games, going 6-for-23 (.261) with four RBI in that span. The third baseman has resumed his everyday role at third base since recovering from an ankle injury. Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Reds' Kevin Newman: Notches steal off bench
Newman went 0-for-1 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 7-6 loss to Atlanta.
Newman has gotten on base safely in all but one of his last seven games, and he's added two steals and four RBI in that span. The infielder's playing time is on the decline with the Reds' infield at full health, and he'll likely be confined to a short-side platoon role going forward. Newman has a .266/.325/.380 slash line with three home runs, 26 RBI, 22 runs scored and six steals through 206 plate appearances this season.

Austin Riley 3B | ATL
Braves' Austin Riley: Picks up rare steal
Riley went 0-for-2 with two walks, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Reds.
Both of Riley's steals this season have come in June -- the other was versus the Nationals on June 9. The third baseman has gone 12-for-46 (.261) with five walks over his last 11 contests. He's slashing .265/.333/.440 with 13 home runs, 38 RBI, 50 runs scored and 14 doubles through 77 games. While that's still above average from a league-wide perspective, Riley's had a bit of trouble hitting for power this year compared to his last two seasons.

Emmanuel Rivera 3B | BAL
Diamondbacks' Emmanuel Rivera: Not in Sunday's lineup
Rivera is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at San Francisco.
Rivera will take a seat for the second time in Arizona's past three games. Evan Longoria will start at the hot corner Sunday, and the pair should split playing time at the position going forward after Josh Rojas was demoted Monday.

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Out of Sunday's lineup
Hayes is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.comreports.

Nationals' Jeimer Candelario: Pops ninth homer
Candelario went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Padres.

Candelario has hit safely in seven of his last nine games and is up to a .255/.333/.454 slash line with nine long balls, 33 RBI, 35 runs scored, two stolen bases and 23 doubles over 72 contests in 2023. He continues to hold down a starting job at third base.
