  • Nationals' Jeimer Candelario: Big game against former club

Candelario went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Tigers.

His fourth-inning solo shot off Alex Faedo got the Nationals on the board, and Candelario then wrapped up the scoring in the eighth with an RBI double. The switch-hitting third baseman is on fire right now, reeling off five multi-hit performances in the last six games with four doubles, a triple and two homers among his 12 hits. The surge has boosted Candelario's slash line on the season up to .253/.310/.447.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Brewers' Brian Anderson: Hits two-run homer

Anderson went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Saturday's loss against Tampa Bay.

Anderson took Rays starter Zach Eflin yard in the fourth inning to bring Willy Adames around to score and bring the Brewers to within one run of Tampa Bay. However, Milwaukee would allow five unanswered runs over the next three innings and eventually fell to the Rays 8-4. Through 43 games, Anderson owns a .236/.327/.426 slash line with seven home runs and 24 RBI. After not hitting a home run between April 24 and May 15, Anderson now has two over his past four games.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Marlins' Jean Segura: Out of lineup

Segura will sit Saturday against San Francisco, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Segura owns an awful .509 OPS on the season, but he's started to show signs of life over the past week, grabbing seven hits across a five-game stretch before going hitless Friday. He'll get a rest Saturday, with Jon Berti starting at third base.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Drops in order

Hayes went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and a run scored Friday against the Diamondbacks.

Hayes hit fifth in the order against right-handed pitching for the third consecutive game, though he responded with his third multi-RBI game of the season. Even after collecting two doubles, he's slugging just .309 since the beginning of May, spanning 15 games and 55 at-bats. As has been the case for much of his big-league career, most of Hayes' fantasy value comes from scoring runs and stealing bases.

  • Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA

Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Productive in Friday win

Madrigal went 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 10-1 win over the Phillies.

Madrigal was solid from the No. 9 spot as the Cubs got production up and down the lineup. He started at third base in this one, and Chicago should continue to work in both Madrigal and Patrick Wisdom at the hot corner, while Christopher Morel could be an option there as well. The crowded situation puts a cap on Madrigal's fantasy upside, though he's a capable performer when he starts.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Headed for injured list

The Padres placed Machado (hand) on the 10-day injured list Friday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Machado was initially expected to miss only a couple of games when he left Monday's game against Kansas City after getting hit by a pitch on his left hand, but additional X-rays revealed a fracture. The Padres have yet to offer a timeline for Machado's return, but it's possible he's able to come off the IL when first eligible May 27. Brandon Dixon was called up Friday to fill Machado's spot on the active roster.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Remains out Friday

Machado (hand) isn't starting Friday against the Red Sox, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

X-rays revealed a fracture in Machado's left hand Wednesday, and the Padres have yet to provide a timeline for his return. He's considered day-to-day for now, but a trip to the injured list is still possible. Ha-Seong Kim will slide over to third base Friday, moving Jake Cronenworth to second base and giving Brandon Dixon a start at first base.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

    Dodgers' Max Muncy: Sitting Friday

Muncy isn't starting Friday against the Cardinals, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.

The Cardinals will begin Friday's contest with southpaw Steven Matz on the mound, providing a good excuse to give the lefty-hitting Muncy a breather. Chris Taylor will take over at third base and bat fifth.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Marlins' Jean Segura: Swipes third bag

Segura went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's win over the Nationals.

Hitting leadoff for the first time this season despite a weak .276 OBP, the veteran infielder drove in Xavier Edwards with a single in the third inning before stealing his third bag of the year. Segura's reached base safely in six straight games, which might help explain his elevation to the top of the order, but he's still batting only .233 (10-for-43) in May with zero homers, one stolen base, two RBI and three runs in 13 contests.

  • Brett Baty 3B | NYM

Mets' Brett Baty: Could see time in left

Baty could shift to left field on occasion as the Mets try to find ways to get Mark Vientos into the lineup, Will Sammon and Tim Britton of The Athletic report.

Vientos' hot bat at Triple-A prompted a promotion, but after homering in his big-league debut Wednesday, the 23-year-old was on the bench Thursday. He's blocked defensively at the infield corners and Pete Alonso isn't budging off first base, which leaves Vientos batting for at-bats at DH unless Baty can be moved elsewhere. Baty has seen sporadic action in left over the last few years in the minors, and given that he's a better athlete than Vientos, he appears more capable of handling the shift. There's also the question of whether the 23-year-old Baty has even earned an everyday spot yet -- through 26 games in the majors this season, Baty is slashing just .241/.323/.386 with three homers.
