Edmundo Sosa 3B | PHI
Cardinals' Edmundo Sosa: Could return by Thursday
Cardinals president of baseball operations John Mozeliak said Sosa (illness) could return from the COVID-19-related injured list as early as Thursday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
After clearing MLB's COVID-19 protocols, Sosa reported to Double-A Springfield to begin a rehab assignment as he works to regain conditioning following a week-long quarantine. He's scheduled to play the full game Tuesday, and Mozeliak said Sosa will play all nine innings for Springfield again Wednesday. If all goes well after he plays on back-to-back days, Sosa may not only find himself activated from the IL, but also in position to step into an everyday role at shortstop. Brendan Donovan will pick up the start at shortstop Tuesday against the Orioles following the struggling Paul DeJong's demotion to Triple-A Memphis earlier in the day, but Mozeliak said Sosa will have "every chance" to supplant Donovan for the job once he's available, according to John Denton of MLB.com.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Moves off COVID-19 IL
The Reds reinstated Moustakas from the COVID-19-related injured list Tuesday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Moustakas was placed on the IL on Monday, but he'll be eligible to rejoin the Reds a day later after he either tested out of MLB's COVID-19 protocols or shed any symptoms that may have been related to the virus. Given the brevity of his absence, Moustakas should immediately settle back into an everyday role in the corner infield.

Jace Peterson SS | ARI
Brewers' Jace Peterson: In lineup again Tuesday
Peterson will start at third base and bat seventh in Tuesday's game against the Reds.
Peterson will stay in the lineup for the third game in a row, but his uptick in playing time has largely been a byproduct of how the Brewers have sequenced the off days for some of their everyday players. He'll benefit from Hunter Renfroe getting a day off Tuesday, as Willy Adames will serve as the Brewers' designated hitter while Luis Urias opens up third base for Peterson by shifting over to shortstop.

Edmundo Sosa 3B | PHI
Cardinals' Edmundo Sosa: On rehab assignment
Sosa (illness) has cleared the COVID-19 protocol and is on a rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Sosa's time with Springfield is likely to be short. He'll need a few reps to get back up to speed before rejoining St. Louis. Expect Sosa to compete for playing time at shortstop once he's officially activated.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Pops fourth homer
Segura went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Monday's 9-0 win over the Mariners.
Facing the team that traded him to the Phillies ahead of the 2019 season, Segura opened the scoring in the top of the second inning by launching a solo shot off Chris Flexen to kick off the rout. Segura has gone yard in back-to-back games and reeled off four straight multi-hit performances as part of a seven-game hitting streak, boosting his slash line on the year to .293/.343/.446 with four homers, one steal, 10 RBI and 12 runs through 24 contests.

Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Three hits, stolen base
Hayes went 3-for-5 with a double, a run and a stolen base in Monday's victory over the Dodgers.
Hayes doubled off Julio Urias in the third inning before adding two singles and a stolen base later in the contest. It was his second straight three-hit effort and he has now registered multiple hits in eight games this season. The stolen base was his third of the year and first since April 14. Hayes has had a strong start to his second full season with the Pirates, batting .333 with eight doubles, 13 runs and three stolen bases over 26 contests.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Should return this week
Longoria (finger) expects to be activated off the injured list in three or four days, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Longoria has yet to make his season debut, as he's still working his way back from finger surgery, a procedure he underwent in late March. He's nearly ready to go after grabbing five hits in five rehab games, but he needs at least a couple more before the Giants activate him.

Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Ready to return
Wisdom (ankle) will hit third and start at the hot corner Monday against the Padres, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Wisdom left Saturday's game against the Dodgers with a bruised ankle and didn't appear in Sunday's series finale, but he's ready to go Monday following a brief absence. He's hit similarly to how he did last year so far this season, as his lopsided .226/.283/.488 slash line is good for a 118 wRC+ despite his 38.0 percent strikeout rate.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Placed on COVID-19 IL
Moustakas was placed on the COVID-19 injured list for an unspecified reason Monday.
The Reds didn't provide an injury designation for the 33-year-old's placement on the IL and designated their subsequent call-up as a replacement player, so it's likely that Moustakas is on the COVID-19 IL. A timetable for his return depends on whether he's tested positive for the virus, but he'll be eligible to rejoin the Reds as soon as he clears the league's health and safety protocols. The Reds have several players on the injured list, so Matt Reynolds and Alejo Lopez will likely see an uptick in playing time while Moustakas is sidelined.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Not in Monday's lineup
Moustakas isn't starting Monday against the Brewers.
Moustakas started in the last 10 games and hit .344 with a homer, three doubles, five runs and five RBI. Tyler Naquin will serve as the designated hitter while TJ Friedl starts in right field.
