Buddy Kennedy 3B | SEA
Diamondbacks' Buddy Kennedy: Clobbers grand slam for first homer
Kennedy went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Sunday's 7-1 win over the Twins.
Kennedy blew things wide open for the Diamondbacks, notching their fourth home run of the game in the sixth inning, and the only one that wasn't a solo shot. He's now 3-for-10 with a triple, a homer, four RBI and three runs scored in his first three major-league games. Considering he batted .296/.384/429 in 54 contests with Triple-A Reno before his promotion, it's not surprising to see Kennedy continue to hit well. His playing time is likely to take a hit soon, as Ketel Marte (hamstring) is due to return during a three-game series in San Diego that starts Monday.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Suffers ankle sprain
Machado was diagnosed with a left ankle sprain after he exited in the first inning of Sunday's game against the Rockies.
Though X-rays on Machado's ankle returned negative to rule out a potential fracture, the extent of his sprain isn't yet known. Since Machado looked to be in pain and didn't put much weight on his foot while exiting the field with the assistance of two trainers, he'll likely be sent in for an MRI later Sunday or Monday before a timeline for his return to action is established. For now, Machado will be viewed as day-to-day until the Padres complete further testing on his ankle.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Injures ankle Sunday
Machado exited in the top of the first inning of Sunday's game against the Rockies after he appeared to suffer a left ankle injury while running to first base on a groundout, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.
According to Lin, Machado required assistance off the field and was putting limited weight on the ankle, which he tweaked when he slipped on first base. Heading into the game, Machado was holding down a .949 OPS and was a major reason why the Padres were neck and neck with the Dodgers for the National League West division lead. Machado's potential absence for any length of time would be a devastating blow for the Padres, who should provide an update on the extent of the third baseman's injury after the contest.

Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Returns to lineup Sunday
Wisdom is starting at third base and batting fifth in Sunday's game against Atlanta.
Wisdom got his first off day in about a month Saturday, but he'll return to the hot corner Sunday. The 30-year-old has been a bit all or nothing this season, as he has 12 home runs but is also batting just .223 with a 35 percent strikeout rate.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Mets' J.D. Davis: Heads to bench Sunday
Davis is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.
Davis started in each of the Mets' last three games and went 3-for-11 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI, but he still may have a tough time finding consistent at-bats against right-handed pitching. With manager Buck Showalter electing to open up more frequent starts for Luis Guillorme in the infield, the Mets look content to rotate a number of players at designated hitter rather than relying on Davis as the primary option at that position.

Jace Peterson SS | ARI
Brewers' Jace Peterson: Sitting against lefty
Peterson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.
The lefty-hitting Peterson will take a seat against Reds southpaw Mike Minor, allowing the righty-hitting Mark Mathias to enter the lineup. Mathias will cover second base while Luis Urias shifts over to cover Peterson's usual post at third base.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Goes deep Saturday
Machado went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Saturday's loss to Colorado.
Machado crushed a 463-foot shot in the fifth inning to give San Diego its first lead of the game, though Colorado ultimately came back to take the win. The third baseman has gone deep twice over his past four games and is slashing an impressive .529/.600/.941 with eight RBI and five runs during that span. Machado is among the leading NL MVP candidates at this point in the campaign with a .329/.401/.548 slash line, 12 long balls, 46 RBI, 48 runs and seven steals over 284 plate appearances.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Gets breather
Longoria is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
With the Giants wrapping up their road series in Pittsburgh with a day game, the 36-year-old Longoria will receive a veteran's maintenance day. Wilmer Flores replaces Longoria at third base Sunday.

Matt Reynolds 3B | CIN
Reds' Matt Reynolds: Moving into bench role
Reynolds is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.
On the bench for the second game in a row, Reynolds looks like he'll serve as more of a utility option moving forward after Jonathan India's recent return from the injured list put the Cincinnati infield back to full strength. The 31-year-old journeyman had been productive while handling a near-everyday role since the beginning of May, as he's holding down a .262 batting average to go with three home runs and four stolen bases across 139 plate appearances on the season.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: Scores in loss
Senzel went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Saturday's loss against the Brewers.
Senzel's lone score came thanks to an error in the fifth inning. He picked up two hits in the game, taking his season batting average up to .214. Senzel fell off after starting this month with hits in seven straight games, and he now has four hits in his last seven. The outfielder is slashing .246/.313/.263 across 14 June games.
