  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

    Dodgers' Max Muncy: Resting Monday

Muncy is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Hanser Alberto will enter the starting nine at third base in place of Muncy, who takes a seat after he was included in the lineup in each of the past five games. Through the first five games of May, Muncy is reaching base at a .400 clip, but it's largely been driven by walks (six) rather than hits (two).

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: 'Couple days away' from return

Manager David Bell said Sunday that Senzel (illness) is still "a couple of days" away from returning from the COVID-19-related injured list, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Bell said the same is true for Joey Votto, who remains away from the team along with Senzel after both recently tested positive for the virus. Senzel looks like he can safely be ruled out for Monday's series opener with the Brewers, which should pave the way for Albert Almora to draw another start in center field.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Not in Sunday's lineup

Wisdom (ankle) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Wisdom was pulled from Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader with a bruised left ankle, and he won't be in the lineup for Sunday's series finale. The 30-year-old had X-rays come back negative, so he appeared to have avoided a serious injury. Jonathan Villar will receive another start at third base in his place, though manager David Ross said Wisdom is available off the bench Sunday if needed, according to Mike McGraw of the Chicago Daily Herald.

  • Matt Reynolds 3B | CIN

    Reds' Matt Reynolds: Opportunities increasing

Reynolds will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Reynolds will pick up his fourth start in five games Sunday, with those assignments coming at three different positions (second base, shortstop and right field). The 31-year-old's defensive versatility should allow him to hold down a near-everyday role until the Reds get at least one of Joey Votto or Nick Senzel back from the COVID-19 injured list.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: On bench Sunday

Hayes is not in the lineup Sunday against the Reds.

Hayes started the past 11 games and will take a seat Sunday for only the third time this season. Michael Chavis will man the hot corner in his place and bat third.

  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Mets' J.D. Davis: On bench again for Game 1

Davis is not in the lineup for Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader at Philadelphia, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.

Davis started three of four games in Atlanta following the release of Robinson Cano, but he finds himself on the bench for the second straight game in Sunday's matinee. He's more likely to be in the lineup for Game 2 with lefty Cristopher Sanchez on the mound for Philadelphia. Pete Alonso will serve as the designated hitter in Game 1 with Dominic Smith starting at first base.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Exits with ankle contusion

Wisdom exited the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Dodgers with a left ankle contusion, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Wisdom left the game in the sixth inning after appearing uncomfortable during a swing. X-rays returned negative, so he should be considered day-to-day until further details emerge. Nick Madrigal entered the game at second base to replace Wisdom while Jonathan Villar shifted to the hot corner.

  • Jason Vosler 3B | SEA

Giants' Jason Vosler: Sent to Sacramento

Vosler was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Vosler had been on the big-league roster since mid-April and looked good at the plate in limited action, hitting .286/.366/.486 with two homers in 12 games. He'll lose out on his roster spot as Brandon Belt returns from the COVID-19 injured list, but he should be one of the top options for a call-up the next time a Giants hitter gets injured.

  • Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA

Cubs' Nick Madrigal: On bench for nightcap

Madrigal will sit for the second part of Saturday's doubleheader against the Dodgers.

Madrigal went 0-for-3 in the first game of the day, dropping his season average to .225. Jonathan Villar will get the start at second base in the nightcap.

  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Mets' J.D. Davis: Riding pine Saturday

Davis isn't starting Saturday against the Phillies.

Davis will get a breather after going 2-for-6 with a double, an RBI and two walks over the last three games. Dominic Smith will serve as the designated hitter and bat eighth.
