Giants' Evan Longoria: Makes cameo off bench

Longoria (hamstring) flied out in his lone at-bat as a pinch hitter in Sunday's 2-0 win over the Dodgers.

Longoria hasn't made a start since Friday due to a tight left hamstring, but his appearance Sunday as a pinch hitter suggests he'll avoid a trip to the 10-day injured list. The Giants return to action Monday, when they kick off a three-game home series with the Royals.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Another pair of RBI

McMahon went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double and two RBI on Sunday against the Padres.

McMahon delivered the game-winning knock with a two-RBI double in the eighth inning. He's come through timely hits of late, racking up five RBI across his last five games while also reaching base at a .381 clip in that span. McMahon has gotten on base at a decent .332 rate across 244 plate appearances, but he has a disappointing .132 ISO.

  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Mets' J.D. Davis: Swats second homer

Davis went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Angels.

His fourth-inning blast off Patrick Sandoval proved to be the winning run in a 4-1 victory. Davis has started 10 of the last 12 games, primarily as the Mets' DH, and while he's slashed .341/.391/.463 over that stretch, Sunday's long ball was only his second of the season in 136 plate appearances.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Swats homer Sunday

Arenado went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Reds.

Arenado has hit safely in each of four games since sitting out once to manage knee soreness. He's 6-for-15 (.400) with a homer, a double and three runs scored in that short hot streak. The third baseman displayed prolific power early in the season, but he's picked up only four long balls in his last 26 contests. For the season, Arenado has a .281/.352/.498 slash line, 11 homers, 41 RBI, 28 runs scored and 14 doubles through 58 games, and he's been caught in both of his stolen-base attempts.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

    Giants' Evan Longoria: Remains sidelined

Longoria (hamstring) remains on the bench Sunday against the Dodgers, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Longoria left Friday's game with left hamstring tightness and didn't appear in Saturday's contest. Exactly how much more time he'll have to miss is unclear. Wilmer Flores will get the start at the hot corner Sunday.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: On bench Sunday

Muncy will sit Sunday against the Giants, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Muncy started three games in a row after returning from a bout of elbow inflammation Thursday, but he'll get the day off here against tough lefty Carlos Rodon. Hanser Alberto starts at second base, Justin Turner at third and Will Smith at designated hitter, the three spots Muncy has split time between this season.

  • Nick Madrigal 2B | LAA

    Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Remains sidelined

Madrigal (groin) will sit Sunday against the Yankees.

Madrigal left Friday's series opener with groin tightness and did not appear in Saturday's contest. He's considered day-to-day, per Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune. Jonathan Villar will handle second base Sunday.

  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Reds' Kyle Farmer: Four hits in Saturday's loss

Farmer went 4-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Cardinals.

The shortstop put together his third multi-hit performance in the last six games and his third four-hit effort of the season, although it didn't lead to much actual production. Farmer continues to build on last year's breakout and has found another gear in June, batting .353 (12-for-34) through 10 games with a homer, two steals, four runs and nine RBI.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Goes deep in win

Riley went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 10-4 win over the Pirates.

Riley tied the game at 2-2 with his first-inning solo shot. He also hit a single and scored on an Ozzie Albies grand slam in the seventh. Through 10 games in June, Riley has gone 13-for-43 (.302), hitting safely in seven of those contests with four homers, 10 RBI and 10 runs scored. The third baseman continues to provide power with 16 homers and an .864 OPS while adding 35 RBI, 34 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases through 59 games this year. Half of his long balls this year have come since May 25.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

    Giants' Evan Longoria: Out Saturday

Longoria (hamstring) is not in Saturday's lineup against the Dodgers, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

With lefty Clayton Kershaw on the hill, the righty-hitting Longoria would surely be in the lineup if he were up for it physically. Wilmer Flores starts at third base as Longoria sits after exiting Friday's game with left hamstring tightness.
