Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Heads to bench Sunday

Hayes is not in the lineup Sunday against the Phillies, Jake Crouse of MLB.com reports.

Hayes started the last 11 games and will receive a day off after posting a .552 OPS and 30.0 percent strikeout rate in that span. Rodolfo Castro will shift to the hot corner while Wilmer Difo starts at second base.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Socks home run No. 20

Suarez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Saturday's loss to the Mets.

Suarez got ahold of a Rich Hill offering in the fourth inning and sent it over the wall in left-center field to give the Reds a 3-1 lead. It was the 20th homer of the year for Suarez, who only has 66 total hits all season. The 30-year-old was ejected later in the game after objecting to a called third strike in the eighth. Despite reaching the 20-home run plateau for the fifth time in the last six years, Suarez is slashing just .173/.257/.368 in 421 plate appearances this season.

  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Reds' Kyle Farmer: Another three-hit effort

Farmer went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Saturday's loss to the Mets.

Farmer put together his third three-hit game in his last five contests, including a solo home run in the fifth inning that gave the Reds a 4-1 lead. The 30-year-old continues to mash since the All-Star break, hitting .446 (25-for-56) in 14 games with three of his 10 homers. Farmer's performance has earned him a promotion to the No. 3 spot in Cincinnati's lineup the past three games.

  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Mets' J.D. Davis: Remains out of lineup

Davis isn't starting Saturday against Cincinnati.

Davis hasn't recorded a hit in his last 10 at-bats, and he'll be out of the lineup for the third time in the last five games. Jonathan Villar will start at third base and lead off.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

Cubs' Matt Duffy: Not starting Saturday

Duffy isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Nationals.

Duffy will get a day off after he went 1-for-11 with a run, a walk and two strikeouts while drawing starts in each of the last three games. David Bote will shift to third base while Andrew Romine enters the lineup at shortstop.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Phillies' Jean Segura: Back in action Saturday

Segura (knee) is batting leadoff and playing second base Saturday against the Pirates.

The infielder, hitting .236 with two home runs and seven RBI 14 games since the All-Star break, returns to action after missing Friday's contest with a minor knee issue.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Launches grand slam

McMahon went 3-for-3 with a grand slam, an additional run scored and two walks in Friday's win over the Padres.

McMahon made his presence felt in the first inning, as he launched a bases-loaded blast off Ryan Weathers that set the tone for the rest of the game. The third baseman has hit safely in all but one of his last 10 games and is hitting an impressive .361 with a 1.017 OPS in that span.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Supplies firepower in loss

Machado went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs and four RBI in Friday's loss to Colorado.

Machado produced nearly all of San Diego's offense in the loss, as he collected half of the team's hits and drove in all four of its runs. The multi-homer game was Machado's second of the season, both of which have come in July. On the month, he is slashing .360/.430/.744 with eight homers, 25 RBI and an 11:13 BB:K over 24 games.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Pair of hits in return

Arenado (forearm) went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in a win over the Twins on Friday.

The veteran slugger was thought to have a good chance of not missing any additional time beyond his early exit from Wednesday's game after getting plunked in the forearm, and that ultimately proved correct. Arenado is wrapping up July wielding a hot bat, as Friday's production pushed his slash line over the last nine contests to an outstanding .324/.410/.676 across 39 plate appearances.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Power surge continues

Riley went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Friday's 9-5 loss to Milwaukee.

The third baseman kept crushing Friday, knocking his seventh homer in his last eight games. Riley is riding a nine-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 15-for-35 (.429) with 15 RBI and eight runs scored. The 24-year-old is slashing .289/.371/.526 with career highs in homers (22), RBI (62) and runs scored (53) through 104 games in a breakout season.
