Muncy went 1-for-4 with a home run and a strike out in Los Angeles' 4-3 win over San Francisco on Thursday.

Muncy took Giants' starter Alex Wood deep in the sixth to break a 3-3 tie and put the Dodgers up for good. The infielder has been one of Los Angeles' most reliable bats yet again this season and Muncy leads the league with an impressive .450 on base.

Suarez went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Thursday's win over the Nationals.

Thursday marked Suarez's third straight game in the leadoff spot for Cincinnati. He has taken well to the table-setting role, notching four hits in his last three games, including two home runs. After opening the year as the Reds' starting shortstop, Suarez has been playing third base exclusively, and there's some hope that increased comfort in the field leads to more comfort for Suarez in the batter's box.

Davis (hand) is expected to resume swinging over the weekend, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.

Davis sprained his left hand back on the first day of May. He appeared to be closing in on a return to action when his rehab stint was paused Sunday due to a stiff neck. During that pause, an MRI revealed joint inflammation in his left hand, so the original injury still appears to be a factor as well. Resuming swinging will be an important step forward for the third baseman, but he remains without a clear timeline to get back in game action.

Segura will sit Thursday against the Marlins.

Segura is doing everything he can to keep the Phillies' offense afloat through absences for Bryce Harper (forearm), J.T. Realmuto (hand) and Didi Gregorius (elbow), as his .826 OPS represents the second-best mark of his 10-year career. He'll get a rest on getaway day, with Brad Miller starting at second base.

Machado (shoulder) isn't starting Thursday's game against the Brewers.

Machado entered Wednesday's game as a pinch hitter, but he'll be excluded from the lineup for a seventh straight contest due to a sore shoulder. Ha-Seong Kim will start at third base and bat eighth.

Newman went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored in Wednesday's loss to the Cubs.

Newman snapped a three-game hitless run with a solid offensive output, especially considering the Pirates only racked up five hits throughout the game. That said, Newman is not a regular contributor on offense and it's hard to rely on him for sustained production on a game-to-game basis. The infielder is only hitting .226 with a .535 OPS. three extra-base hits and a 4:4 BB:K across 88 plate appearances this month.

Riley went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Wednesday's 9-5 loss to the Red Sox.

It almost seems a bit disappointing these days when Riley only hits one homer in a game. The 24-year-old has gone yard seven times in the last nine contests while chipping in four doubles as well, giving him a mammoth .394/.417/1.152 slash line over that stretch with 12 RBI. It is worth nothing that also has a 1:14 BB:K over that stretch, a reminder that he may not have solved his contact issues despite this blistering hot streak.

Vosler homered in his only plate appearance Wednesday against Arizona.

The rookie pinch ran for Darin Ruf in the sixth frame and subsequently stayed in the game to play first base. He got an opportunity to hit in a tie game in the eighth inning, and Vosler came through with a solo shot to right field that provided the winning run. The long ball was Vosler's first as a major-leaguer and only his third hit overall. The 27-year-old has some pop, having hit 20-plus homers in the minors during each season between 2017 and 2019.

The Giants recalled Vosler to the big-league roster Wednesday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

The 2014 draft pick will fill the roster spot of Brandon Belt (oblique), who is expected to spend up to two weeks on the injured list. Vosler has two hits in 14 big-league at-bats this season and has hit .200 at Triple-A.

Machado (shoulder) is not starting Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

His shoulder soreness will keep him out of the lineup once again, as he hasn't played since May 19. Either the injury is lingering longer than anticipated or the Padres expect Machado to return in the next couple days, because the star third baseman is approaching 10 days since the injury, yet he has not been placed on the injured list. There was talk of Machado being available as a pinch hitter Tuesday, so he does appear close to being ready.
