  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Dodgers' Kyle Farmer: Optioned to Oklahoma City

Farmer was sent back down to Triple-A Oklahoma City following Wednesday's game.

Farmer will return to the minors after joining the big-league club this past weekend to provide some extra depth while the Dodgers continue to deal with injuries. This move likely signals the return of Chase Utley, who is set to come off the DL (thumb) prior to Friday's game against the Mets. As for Farmer, the 27-year-old will continue to receive regular at-bats with Oklahoma City.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Blasts 15th homer Wednesday

Suarez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Tigers.

His sixth-inning blast gave the Reds a 3-2 lead that they wouldn't relinquish. Suarez now has 15 homers on the year, and his .295/.382/.571 slash line puts him well on his way to career highs in all three categories.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Surgery goes as expected

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said "all went well" Tuesday when Longoria underwent surgery to repair a fractured left hand, Martin Oppegaard of MLB.com reports.

Longoria will head to the Giants' spring training facility in Arizona before returning to San Francisco over the weekend to begin his rehab, which is expected to last around 6-to-8 weeks. With Longoria likely on the shelf until at least early August, Pablo Sandoval and Alen Hanson are expected to share duties at third base.

  • Mitch Walding 3B | PHI

Phillies' Mitch Walding: Back with big club

Walding was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.

With J.P. Crawford (hand) hitting the disabled list for the second time this season, Walding will once again rejoin the Phillies to serve as his replacement. The 25-year-old appeared in just three games -- starting one -- and struck out in all six of his plate appearances during his first stint with the big club, so he figures to stick in a reserve role this time around.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Smacks 14th homer

Arenado went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, three RBI and a pair of runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Mets.

Arenado helped break the game open early, hitting a two-run shot in the third inning to kickstart a back-to-back-to-back sequence after Trevor Story and Ian Desmond followed with long balls of their own. The 27-year-old has now tallied multi-hit efforts in three of the last five games and is having another terrific campaign; through 67 games, he's slashing .311/.399/.559 to go along with 14 homers and 45 RBI.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Stays hot Tuesday

Rendon went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored Tuesday against the Orioles.

Rendon drove in a run on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning and plated a couple more with an RBI double in the seventh. The third baseman hit just .179 through the first 10 games in June but has now collected multiple hits in four of his last five starts. Rendon is slashing .277/.351/.462 with six homers and 27 RBI on the year. He should see plenty of run-producing opportunities moving forward while hitting behind the likes of Adam Eaton, Trea Turner and Bryce Harper.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Knocks 13th homer Saturday

Suarez went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo homer in Saturday's loss to the Pirates.

Suarez took Ivan Nova deep in the second inning to tie the game at 1-1, marking his 13th homer of the season while also extending his hitting streak to seven games. The 26-year-old now owns a strong .299/.388/.563 line with 13 homers and 50 RBI.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Will have surgery Tuesday

Longoria (hand) will undergo surgery Tuesday to address his fractured left hand, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

The typical recovery timetable is 6-8 weeks, which could have Longoria back around the start of August, but he apparently plans to work towards a quick return just after the All-Star break, which ends July 20. Regardless, specifics are unlikely to be available until he begins the rehab process post-surgery.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Not in Saturday's lineup

Muncy is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.

Muncy will unsurprisingly head to the bench Saturday as the Giants send left-hander Madison Bumgarner to the mound. Cody Bellinger moves back to first base with Enrique Hernandez starting in center field and batting second.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Placed on disabled list

Longoria was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a fractured hand Friday.

Longoria was hit on the left hand by a pitch Thursday against the Marlins. He's expected to miss at least six weeks and could miss over two months if surgery is required. Alen Hanson started in his place Friday, though Pablo Sandoval could slide over from first base once Brandon Belt (appendicitis) returns from the disabled list, which is expected to happen Saturday.
