  • Matt Reynolds 3B | CIN

Nationals' Matt Reynolds: Sent back to Triple-A

Reynolds was sent to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Reynolds had been up since early April, appearing in 10 games but making just one start. He had just one hit in 13 plate appearances. Adrian Sanchez will take his role as a utility infielder on the major-league roster.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Drives in lone Marlins run Monday

Anderson went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Dodgers.

He's now picked up five hits in his last four games to break out of a mid-April slump, leaving Anderson with a .256/.389/.359 slash line on the season. The 24-year-old was hitting in the cleanup spot Monday as manager Don Mattingly continues to tinker with his lineup, but that show of confidence from his skipper is a good sign for Anderson given that Martin Prado (knee) is getting very close to coming off the disabled list.

  • Carlos Asuaje 3B | LAD

Padres' Carlos Asuaje: Homers for second time against Rockies

Asuaje hit his second home run and drove in four runs in a 2-for-5 game with two runs scored Monday against Colorado.

Asuaje had just five extra-base hits all year, including his other home run, entering Monday's game. Power was not a strong point for Asuaje in 2017 either, as he managed just a .362 slugging percentage behind four homers in 89 games. Despite Monday's performance, Asuaje hasn't shown much more life in 2018 -- his line sits at .226/.301/.345 even after the homer and multi-hit day.

  • Trevor Plouffe 3B | PHI

Phillies' Trevor Plouffe: Inks minor-league deal

Plouffe signed a minor-league contract with the Phillies on Monday, Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Plouffe received his release from the Rangers on April 10 and will look for a fresh start in Philadelphia. He figures to join Triple-A Lehigh, where he'll provide organizational depth.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Headed to Triple-A

Suarez (thumb) will join Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday to start a rehab assignment, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Suarez continues to make progress, and after hitting off a tee and taking soft toss Saturday, he's ready to begin a rehab stint. The 26-year-old third baseman hasn't been experiencing any pain when swinging a bat and a date for his return figures to be set soon.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Out against lefty Monday

Muncy is not in the lineup Monday against the Marlins.

Muncy has gotten plenty of playing time at third base against right-handers during his cup of coffee in Los Angeles, but he'll head to the bench with southpaw Jarlin Garcia taking the hill for Miami. Kyle Farmer will take over at third to replace him.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

    Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Homers Sunday

Arenado went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored Sunday against the Cubs.

Arenado has shown no ill effects after his five-game absence due to suspension as he blasted his second home run in three games since returning to the lineup. It's been business as usual for him to begin the season, as he's currently hitting .344/427/.578.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Blasts home run Sunday

Longoria went 1-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Angels.

Longoria went deep for his fourth home run of the season Sunday and has recorded a hit in four of the last five games. After a slow start to the year, he's beginning to improve his production at the plate, slashing .243/.263/.500 in 19 games for the Giants. The 32-year-old third baseman will look to stay hot as San Francisco starts a three-game series with Washington on Monday.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Headed to DL

Rendon (toe) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday, Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reports.

It had looked like Rendon was close to returning, as he'd been available from the bench to pinch hit Saturday. Although he's been out for eight consecutive games, his move to the DL can only be backdated three days, so he'll remain out for at least seven more. Until he returns to full health, Wilmer Difo will likely see regular playing time at third base. In a corresponding move, Austin Adams was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Remains out of lineup

Rendon (toe) is not in the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports.

This will mark the eighth consecutive game in which Rendon has been withheld from the starting lineup, as Wilmer Difo will draw the start at the hot corner and hit eighth. Rendon was available to pinch hit Saturday, so it's likely that he's available from the bench for Sunday's game as well.
