  • Eric Wagaman 1B | MIN

Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Taking seat Tuesday

Wagaman is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

Wagaman's absence from the lineup Tuesday breaks a run of 17 straight starts, during which he had a .243/.264/.400 slash line with five doubles and two homers. Matt Mervis will man first base while Agustin Ramirez receives a turn at designated hitter.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Giants' Matt Chapman: Swipes bag in loss

Chapman went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base during Monday's 9-2 loss to the Cubs.

Chapman hit a single into left field in the second inning and stole second base. The 32-year-old has recorded five stolen bases this season, tying him for the team-high mark. Additionally, the third baseman reached on a fielder's choice in the fourth before scoring on a two-run home run by Luis Matos. Chapman has recorded at least one hit in four of his last five games, slashing .278/.316/.611 with five RBI, four runs scored, two home runs and a 1:4 BB:K across 19 plate appearances in that span.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | SEA

Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Drives in two

Suarez went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Mets.

Since homering four times (five RBI) in a game last week, Suarez entered Monday in a 4-for-28 (.143) funk with one RBI over the subsequent seven games. That's been the story of his season -- a spasm of production followed by slumps. Seventeen of his 23 RBI were produced in just four contests. Suarez has spent most of the season below the Mendoza Line and is batting .198 over 35 games.

  • Noelvi Marte 3B | CIN

Reds' Noelvi Marte: Not in Monday's lineup

Marte is not in the Reds' starting lineup against Atlanta on Monday.

Marte will begin Monday's contest in the dugout after going 1-for-10 during the Reds' three-game weekend series against the Nationals. Santiago Espinal will start at the hot corner and bat eighth against Atlanta right-hander AJ Smith-Shawver.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Cubs' Jon Berti: On bench for series opener

Berti is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants.

Nicky Lopez will get the start at the hot corner and will bat ninth while Berti heads to the bench for the series opener. Berti has been serving as the Cubs' primary starter at third base since mid-April, but he's viewed as more of a stopgap solution and is expected to eventually transition into more of a utility role once prospect Matt Shaw is deemed ready to return from Triple-A Iowa.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Collects three hits, swipes bag

Machado went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run and a stolen base in Sunday's 4-0 win against Pittsburgh.

Machado was a frequent visitor to the basepaths in the victory, as he reached in four of his five appearances. The veteran third baseman also continued his strong start to the season in the stolen base department, as he notched his seventh steal in eight attempts. Machado swiped 11 bags in 13 attempts during the regular season last year, and his career high is 20 stolen bases in 2015 while he was with the Orioles.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Homers twice in win

Riley went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Dodgers.

Riley was Atlanta's offense in this contest, taking Dustin May deep for two-run shots in the first and third innings. He hadn't homered in his last 10 games, though he batted .302 with two doubles and five RBI in that span. The third baseman is off to a resurgent start in 2025, batting .292 with an .847 OPS, eight homers, 24 RBI, 14 runs scored and six doubles across 33 contests.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Four hits in Sunday's doubleheader

Arenado went 4-for-8 with one RBI, one walk and one run scored over both games of Sunday's doubleheader against the Mets.

Entering Sunday, Arenado had gone 11 games without a multi-hit effort before posting a pair of two-hit contests in the twin bill. The third baseman was 6-for-43 (.140) over that mediocre stretch. Arenado started the year positively before his recent fade, but he's at a respectable .254/.341/.402 slash line with three home runs, 14 RBI, 14 runs scored, nine doubles and one stolen base over 32 games this season.

  • Jose Tena SS | WAS

Nationals' Jose Tena: Sitting in second straight game

Tena is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

After heading to the bench for Saturday's 11-6 win while Nick Lodolo took the hill for Cincinnati, the lefty-hitting Tena will remain on the bench Sunday against a right-handed starter (Nick Martinez). The Nationals had given Tena a look as their primary third baseman after Paul DeJong (orbital) landed on the injured list in mid-April, but Tena may be falling out of favor after going 0-for-13 with a walk and seven strikeouts over his last four starts. Amed Rosario will get the call at third base for the second day in a row.

  • Mark Vientos DH | NYM

Mets' Mark Vientos: On bench for Game 1

Vientos is not in the lineup for Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Vientos started the previous 10 games at the hot corner and will sit for Sunday's matinee after posting an .814 OPS during that span. Luisangel Acuna will receive a look at third base while Jeff McNeil mans the keystone and Jose Azocar starts in center field.
