    Nationals' Trey Lipscomb: Officially recalled

The Nationals recalled Lipscomb from Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday.

Lipscomb is taking the roster spot vacated by outfielder Lane Thomas (knee), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. The rookie posted a .563 OPS with one home run and four stolen bases over 14 games with the Nationals earlier this month and could get some reps at third base if the club wants to use Senzel in the outfield as a fill-in for Thomas.

Nationals' Trey Lipscomb: Joins team in Washington

Lipscomb has joined the Nationals' taxi squad and could be called up from Triple-A Rochester prior to Wednesday's game against the Dodgers, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Outfielder Lane Thomas is getting an MRI on his left knee after exiting Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Dodgers, and the expectation is that he'll require a trip to the injured list. Lipscomb put up a .563 OPS with one home run and four stolen bases over 14 games with the Nationals earlier this month. He could see action at third base if the club elects to use Nick Senzel in the outfield or in the designated hitter spot in place of Thomas.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Another multi-hit game

Bohm went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI in Tuesday's 8-1 loss to the Reds.

Bohm was the lone Phillie with more than one hit and drove in their lone run Tuesday with a two-out double off Andrew Abbott in the opening frame. The 27-year-old Bohm has now hit safely in seven straight games, going 12-for-26 in that span, while recording multiple hits in four of his last five contests. He's boosted his slash line to .305/.400/.524 with three homers, seven doubles and 19 RBI through his first 95 plate appearances while batting in the middle of a potent Philadelphia lineup.

  • Diamondbacks' Sergio Alcantara: Back with Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks acquired Alcantara from the Pirates on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations.

It marks the fifth time Arizona has acquired Alcantara. The veteran infielder will be assigned to Triple-A Reno, where he will give the team added depth with Geraldo Perdomo (knee) on the shelf.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Giants' Matt Chapman: Records third steal

Chapman went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base in Monday's 5-2 win over the Mets.

Chapman is up to three steals this year, two of which have come over the last three contests. The third baseman has gone 8-for-24 (.333) with four RBI and six extra-base hits over his last seven contests. He's slashing .226/.280/.430 with four home runs, 14 RBI, 13 runs scored and seven doubles through 100 plate appearances, but his recent performances suggest he's trending in the right direction.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | COL

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Struggling of late

McMahon went 0-for-3 with an RBI on Monday against the Padres.

McMahon recorded four hits April 12, but he has only five hits across 38 plate appearances since. He's also struck out at 39.5 percent clip in that span while tallying two RBI and two runs scored. Even with that stretch, McMahon has a .314 average across 100 plate appearances on the campaign.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Three hits in loss

Suarez went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Cardinals.

Suarez, who logged his first three-hit performance of the season, entered the game on a 3-for-26 (.115) stretch over the last eight games. The two RBI upped his season total to 16, second on the Diamondbacks behind Lourdes Gurriel (21).

  • Tyler Wade 3B | SD

Padres' Tyler Wade: Heads to bench Monday

Wade is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rockies.

The lefty-hitting Wade will give way to the righty-hitting Eguy Rosario at third base while southpaw Austin Gomber takes the hill for Colorado. Wade had started in three of the previous four games and continues to see the majority of the time at the hot corner while Manny Machado (paternity) remains limited to designated hitter duties following his offseason elbow surgery.

  • Oliver Dunn 3B | MIL

Brewers' Oliver Dunn: Sits in second straight

Dunn is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates.

Dunn was awarded three consecutive starts at third base this past Wednesday through Saturday, but he was unable to break out of his recent funk at the plate, as he produced just one hit in 11 at-bats. The rookie has posted a .333 OPS over his last nine games and now finds himself back on the bench for the second game in a row. Joey Ortiz still looks to be the Brewers' preferred option at third base for the time being.

  • Brewers' Andruw Monasterio: Returned to minors

The Brewers optioned Monasterio to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.

Monasterio was up with the big club over the weekend while Jake Bauers (personal) was on the bereavement list, but Monasterio will now return to Nashville with Bauers back in tow for Monday's game versus the Pirates. The infielder didn't appear in a game during his latest stint in the majors.
