Escobar went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 7-1 loss to the Nationals.

The Mets mustered only four hits in the contest, and Escobar's long ball accounted for their lone run. He's taking advantage of renewed playing time at third base in September, going 2-for-7 with two homers, four RBI and two walks through three games this month. The veteran infielder is slashing just .219/.272/.397 on the year with 14 homers, 48 RBI, 43 runs scored and 22 doubles through 109 contests, but he should have a clear path to playing time until Luis Guillorme (groin) returns.

Muncy isn't starting Saturday against the Padres, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Muncy is getting a breather after he went 1-for-18 with a run, three walks and six strikeouts over the last five games. Will Smith will serve as the designated hitter and bat cleanup.

Moncada (hamstring) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Moncada has been on the IL with a left hamstring strain since late August but is eligible to rejoin the White Sox as early as Monday against the Mariners. Once the 27-year-old is officially reinstated, he should reclaim his job as Chicago's primary third baseman.

Hayes (shoulder) isn't starting Saturday against the Blue Jays, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Hayes exited Friday's game against the Blue Jays due to left shoulder discomfort and is considered day-to-day, but he'll be held out of the lineup for at least one game. Rodolfo Castro will start at the hot corner and bat fifth Saturday.

McMahon isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Reds.

McMahon is getting a day off after he went 2-for-12 with five strikeouts over the last three games. Elehuris Montero will take his place at the hot corner and bat fifth.

Bride will sit Saturday against the Orioles.

Bride finds himself on the bench for the second time in three games, though that follows a stretch in which he started six out of seven contests. He hasn't hit the ball with much authority through his first 40 major-league games, slashing .231/.318/.285 with a 1.9 percent barrel rate. Tony Kemp will handle second base Saturday.

Longoria isn't starting Saturday against the Phillies.

Longoria has gone 4-for-12 with three doubles, two RBI, a run and a walk over his last four games but will be on the bench for the fourth time in the last seven matchups. David Villar is starting at the hot corner and batting sixth.

Paredes isn't starting Saturday against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Paredes returned to the lineup Friday against the Yankees but will head to the bench for the third time in the last four games. Jonathan Aranda will take over at the keystone and bat third.

Machado went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in a 7-1 win over the Dodgers on Friday.

Machado struck the first blow in the series when he lifted a two-run shot to left field in the third inning. The long ball extended his hitting streak to seven games, during which he is slashing .433/.469/.833 with three homers, 11 RBI and seven runs. Machado is up to 25 homers on the year, a mark that he has reached in every season since 2015 aside from the abbreviated 2020 campaign.

Riley went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 8-1 win over the Marlins.

He took Cole Sulser deep in the seventh inning, one of five Atlanta homers on the night, and Riley extended his personal homer streak to three games. The 25-year-old slugger can be very streaky, but the highs have far outweighed the lows in 2022 and Friday's blast gave Riley a new career high with 34 homers to go along with a career-best .927 OPS. With 29 games left on Atlanta's schedule, he's got a legitimate shot at his first 40-homer campaign.
