Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Heads to bench
Donaldson will sit Thursday against Houston.

Austin Riley 3B | ATL
Braves' Austin Riley: Out in second straight game
Riley is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Giants, marking his second straight absence.
According to Mark Bowman of MLB.com, Riley finds himself on the bench for the second day in a row not because he's dealing with an injury or an illness, but because manager Brian Snitker wants to give the 25-year-old a proper day off. That was supposed to happen Wednesday, but Riley ended up playing the final two innings of Atlanta's 4-3 win. Riley may still be available in a pinch-hitting capacity Thursday, but Snitker ideally prefers to keep him out of the field for the day.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Idle versus lefty
Moustakas is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Dodgers.
The lefty-hitting Moustakas will hit the bench for the second game in a row with the Dodgers bringing a lefty (Clayton Kershaw) to the mound. Jonathan India will fill Moustakas' usual spot as the Reds' designated hitter while Matt Reynolds enters the lineup at second base.

Taylor Walls SS | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: Tallies multiple hits
Walls went 2-for-4 with a double Wednesday against the Yankees.
Walls led off the seventh inning with a double but was ultimately stranded. He had tallied a single three frames earlier to produce his first multi-hit game since May 3. Walls' time as the team's primary shortstop appears to be nearing an end with Wander Franco (quadriceps) in the midst of a rehab assignment.

Jake Burger 1B | TEX
White Sox's Jake Burger: Tallies first triple
Burger went 2-for-5 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Blue Jays.
Burger led off the seventh inning with a triple and came around to score on a single by Reese McGuire. With Yoan Moncada (hamstring) back on the injured list, Burger has a clear path to playing time at third base. He has an impressive .790 OPS across 167 plate appearances on the season.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Rays' Isaac Paredes: Goes deep again Wednesday
Paredes went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday.
After going deep three times against New York on Tuesday, Paredes swatted a solo shot in his first at-bat of Wednesday's contest. His unexpected power surge has Paredes up to nine major-league homers on the campaign to go along with the four long balls he swatted in 25 games with Triple-A Durham. He has never been a prolific home run hitter in the minors, but there is the possibility that he is learning to tap into his raw power.

Gio Urshela 3B | MIN
Twins' Gio Urshela: Double shy of cycle in loss
Urshela went 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, three RBI and three runs scored in Wednesday's 11-10 loss to the Guardians.
Urshela was productive Wednesday, with his three-run homer in the seventh inning giving the Twins a 10-7 lead. He hadn't homered since May 30, and his last multi-hit game before Wednesday was June 8. He's still holding down a regular role at third base with a steady .260/.315/.400 slash line, six homers, 29 RBI, 27 runs scored, 10 doubles and a triple through 63 contests overall.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Records steal Wednesday
Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Wednesday's 11-10 win over the Twins.
Ramirez missed two games with a thumb injury over the weekend, but it hasn't slowed him down at the plate. He's hit safely in his last 11 contests, going 18-for-46 (.391) in that span. The third baseman has also picked up four steals in that stretch, giving him 12 in 15 attempts this year. For the season, he's slashing a stellar .302/.393/.630 with 16 home runs, 62 RBI, 44 runs scored, 21 doubles and four triples in 62 games.

Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Astros' Alex Bregman: Launches eighth homer
Bregman went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run during Wednesday's 5-3 win versus the Mets. He was also hit by a pitch.
The 28-year-old delivered a two-run homer during the opening frame, which was immediately followed by a solo shot from Yordan Alvarez. Bregman entered Wednesday's contest with a .655 OPS in June, but he's now in the midst of a five-game hit streak, during which he's gone 7-for-16 with two home runs, four walks, four RBI and five runs scored.
