Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Not starting nightcap
Hayes is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.
Hayes went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts during the matinee and will head to the bench while in the midst of a 2-for-20 slump. Hoy Park will start at the hot corner in Hayes' place during Game 2.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Sitting out nightcap
Arenado is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader versus the Pirates, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
The 31-year-old went 0-for-4 during the matinee and will take a seat for Game 2 of the twin bill. Brendan Donovan will man the hot corner in Arenado's place and bat second.

Jace Peterson SS | ARI
Brewers' Jace Peterson: Everyday role reopens
Peterson will start at third base and bat eighth in Tuesday's game against the Mets.
Peterson briefly lost hold of a regular starting role June 8 when Willy Adames made his return from the 10-day injured list, but Kolten Wong (calf) was deactivated three days later to reopen playing time in the infield. The 32-year-old Peterson will pick up his fifth start at third base in six games Tuesday and should play often against right-handed pitching until Wong is back from the IL.

Tyler Freeman RF | COL
Guardians' Tyler Freeman: Ugly results in Triple-A
Freeman is hitting just .220/.333/.319 with three homers, two steals and a 10:18 BB:K through 35 games for Triple-A Columbus.
While no one expected Freeman to muscle up and start hitting homers in bunches, he's been utterly punchless this season. It's been particularly bad over his last 16 games, in which Freeman has managed a brutal .175/.307/.270 line with a couple home runs and no other extra-base hits. Generally considered something of a doubles machine, the 23-year-old hasn't hit a two-bagger since way back on May 19. The only positives to take away from this season so far are that Freeman has kept his strikeout rate low and that his BABIP is an unlucky .233. If he can get back to what made him successful in the lower levels of the minors, Freeman could grow into a contact-heavy starter at second base, but this season has mostly been a step backward so far.

Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA
Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Still sidelined
Madrigal (groin) remains on the bench Tuesday against the Padres.
Madrigal exited Friday's game against the Yankees with groin tightness and hasn't played since then. He's seemingly still day-to-day, as he hasn't been placed on the injured list, but he'll sit here for the fourth straight game as Jonathan Villar remains the starter at second base.
-
Emmanuel Rivera 3B | BAL
Royals' Emmanuel Rivera: Day off Tuesday
Rivera will sit Tuesday against the Giants.
Rivera sits after starting 18 straight games at third base. His .209/.254/.313 slash line over that stretch hardly looks like that of an everyday player, so it's possible he hits the bench on a more regular basis going forward. Nicky Lopez will start at the hot corner.
-
Jake Burger 1B | TEX
White Sox's Jake Burger: Not starting Tuesday
Burger (hand) will sit Tuesday against the Tigers.
Burger left Monday's game against the Tigers after a pitch hit his hand. His X-rays were negative and he hasn't been diagnosed with anything worse than a bruise, but he'll nevertheless get at least one day to recover. Andrew Vaughn will serve as the designated hitter, with Adam Engel starting in right field.

Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Blue Jays' Matt Chapman: Hitting seventh in return Tuesday
Chapman (wrist) is starting at third base and hitting seventh Tuesday against the Orioles.
He missed a few games with a sore wrist but is back as expected Tuesday. Chapman is hitting .271/.370/.371 with one home run, four doubles and 17 strikeouts over his last 20 games.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Moved to 60-day IL
The Phillies transferred Segura (finger) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Segura's move to the 60-day IL frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for utility man Yairo Munoz, whose contract was purchased from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The transaction doesn't affect Segura's timeline for rejoining the Phillies; he was already expected to miss 10-to-12 weeks after undergoing surgery earlier this month to repair a fractured right index finger.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Mets' J.D. Davis: Sitting Tuesday
Davis is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers.
Davis had started four straight games, grabbing at least one hit in all four, but he'll nonetheless head to the bench here. Nick Plummer will get the start as the designated hitter.
