Farmer (abdomen) will not play in either of the Reds' final two games, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Farmer was held out of Saturday's lineup due to an abdominal strain, and it was later revealed that he would also be sidelined Sunday. He'll close the season with a .263/.316/.416 line to go along with 16 home runs, 63 RBI and 60 runs scored. Jose Barrero starts in Farmer's place at shortstop while hitting sixth Saturday, and he may get another chance to start Sunday.

Sosa (wrist) is starting Saturday's game against the Cubs, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Sosa had been out of the lineup in each of the last seven games due to a wrist injury, but he went 1-for-1 off the bench Friday. He'll start at the keystone and bat seventh while Paul DeJong serves as the starting shortstop.

Newman isn't starting Saturday's game against the Reds.

Newman went 3-for-4 with two RBI, a run and a strikeout in Friday's series opener, and he'll get a breather Saturday. Oneil Cruz will make his major-league debut at shortstop and bat eighth.

Farmer (oblique) isn't starting Saturday's game against Pittsburgh.

Farmer tweaked his oblique ahead of Friday's series opener, and manager David Bell acknowledged that the injury could keep the 31-year-old sidelined for the remainder of the year. Jose Barrero will take his place at shortstop and bat sixth Saturday.

Riley will sit Saturday against the Mets.

Riley will rest along with several of his teammates as Atlanta looks to keep players well rested for the postseason. Ehire Adrianza starts at the hot corner.

Segura isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Marlins.

Segura will be out of the lineup for a second straight contest since the Phillies have been eliminated from postseason contention. Ronald Torreyes will start at the keystone and bat seventh.

Longoria will sit Saturday against the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Longoria will rest after starting 10 of the last 11 games at third base. Kris Bryant will start at the hot corner Saturday.

LeMahieu (hip) isn't starting Saturday's game against the Rays, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Manager Aaron Boone revealed Saturday that LeMahieu has been dealing with a sports hernia, and he received an injection Friday. Boone is optimistic that the 33-year-old will return to the lineup Sunday, but Gio Urshela will shift to third base while Andrew Velazquez starts at shortstop Saturday.

Ramirez went 2-for-5 with three RBI, a steal and a run scored in Friday's 9-6 win over the Rangers.

Ramirez knocked a two-run single in the third inning and brought home another run with a base knock in the fourth. After starting the month in an 8-for-41 (.195) skid, the switch-hitting star has gone 22-for-60 (.367) with 15 RBI over the last 17 games. He's now sporting an .896 OPS with 103 RBI and has tied his career high with 110 runs scored.

Newman went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI and a run scored in Friday's 9-2 win over Cincinnati.

All three of Newman's hits were singles, the biggest coming in the eighth inning to extend Pittsburgh's lead to 4-1. He came around to score on a Cole Tucker grand slam. Newman has a modest four-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 6-for-13 with three RBI and a pair of runs. He's still sitting on a lackluster .226/.265/.310 slash line through 550 plate appearances overall, and he's gone seven games without an extra-base hit.
