The Reds announced Wednesday that Senzel will require arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. He's expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks.

Senzel was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday due to left knee inflammation, and the issue is apparently more serious than the team initially anticipated. Manager David Bell described the surgery as a "clean-up" but said that the Reds won't have an official timetable for Senzel's return until the procedure is complete, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Jonathan India should serve as Cincinnati's primary second baseman while Senzel is out.

LeMahieu is batting leadoff and playing first base in Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

He missed just one game while on paternity leave. LeMahieu has fallen into a cold 2-for-18 stretch in his last five games, but he has the potential for a solid performance against Toronto starter Alek Manoah, who makes his MLB debut Wednesday.

Triple-A St. Paul reinstated Maggi (undisclosed) from the 7-day injured list Wednesday.

Maggi hadn't played for St. Paul since May 9 due to the injury. The 32-year-old third baseman has yet to make his MLB debut and is viewed as more of an organizational depth piece rather than a prospect at this point.

Donaldson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Donaldson will sit for the second consecutive Wednesday, breaking a streak of seven consecutive starts. The 35-year-old managed only two hits in 22 at-bats over that stretch, with his average plummeting to .236 on the season as a result. Miguel Sano will spell Donaldson at third base in the series finale.

Suarez will lead off and man third base Wednesday against the Nationals, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Suarez's .228 on-base percentage and average speed wouldn't seem to make him a logical fit for the leadoff gig, but manager David Bell appears content to give the 29-year-old a trial in the role while the team remains without three everyday players (Joey Votto, Nick Senzel and Mike Moustakas) due to injury. In his first career start out of the leadoff spot in Tuesday's 2-1 win, Suarez struck out three times, but he connected on a pivotal solo home run off Max Scherzer in the sixth inning.

Madrigal went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and was caught stealing in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Cardinals.

Madrigal is fourth on the White Sox with 44 base hits, a figure that could increase if his BABIP would cooperate. He's posted a .303 BABIP (league average is .289) while the three teammates ahead of him -- Yoan Moncada (.400), Yermin Mercedes (.388) and Tim Anderson (.367) -- have been considerably luckier than the second baseman.

Bregman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday.

The third baseman offered the only resistance Houston could muster against Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw, taking the legendary left-hander deep to left field in the seventh inning. Bregman also singled in the ninth inning to notch his second two-hit game in his past three contests. On the season, he is slashing .319/.398/.481 with six homers and 25 RBI across 181 plate appearances.

Moncada went 2-for-4 with an RBI, run scored and a walk Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Moncada walked with the bases loaded in the second inning to continue a three-run rally in the frame. He now has three multi-hit games in his last 13 starts, during which time he is hitting .359 with with five RBI and six runs scored. Though Moncada has managed to maintain a .285 average across 193 plate appearances this season, he has slugged only .411 and posted a .127 ISO.

Longoria went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, four RBI and two runs in Tuesday's 8-0 win over the Diamondbacks.

Longoria reached base in each of his first four at-bats, with his third-inning three-run homer doubling the Giants' lead to an early 6-0 margin. This continues a hot stretch for the veteran third baseman, who's gone 7-for-16 with two homers and seven RBI over his past four games.

Suarez went 1-for-4 with a home run in Tuesday's win over the Nationals.

Suarez launched his 10th homer of the season off Max Scherzer in the sixth, but that would be everything he'd contribute to the win -- he struck out in each of his other three at-bats. The veteran has reached double-digit long balls for the seventh year in a row, though he isn't contributing much in other categories -- he owns a .150 average with a meager .586 OPS.
