Chapman went 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk and a run in a loss to the Mariners on Friday.

On a night when the Athletics offense was largely silent, Chapman made some noise with his second triple of the season. The two-hit effort was a much-needed respite from a multi-game slump, as Chapman had gone just 1-for-27 over the previous seven contests.

Candelario (shoulder) was activated from the 10-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Toledo.

Dawel Lugo will continue to be the Tigers' third baseman while Candelario attempts to get on track in Toledo. He was hitting .179 with a 28.2 percent strikeout rate prior to the injury.

Donaldson went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-8 win over the Phillies.

The veteran third baseman can still punish a mistake, but that's about all Donaldson has been doing lately. He's slashing .140/.222/.333 over his last 15 games with three of his 10 homers on the year, but with Ender Inciarte (back) still out indefinitely and Austin Riley needed in the outfield, Donaldson with continue getting every chance to figure things out at the plate.

Senzel went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 7-1 loss to the Rangers.

His eighth-inning shot off Drew Smyly ruined a combined shutout for Texas, but it was the only offensive bright spot on the night for Cincy. Senzel has gone yard in back-to-back games, giving him six homers on the year to go with his .272/.331/.490 slash line over 36 contests.

Machado went 4-for-7 with a home run, a double, two RBI and four runs scored in Friday's 16-12 win at Coors Field.

Machado launched a solo home run off reliever Jake McGee in the seventh inning and added an RBI double to help complete a 12th-inning rally for the win. The 26-year-old has hit three home runs in the last two games. It's been an underwhelming start for Machado in his first season with the Padres, but hopefully he can make this streak last. He's batting .256/.339/.445 with 13 home runs, 38 RBI and 37 runs scored.

Rendon went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBI in Friday's win over Arizona.

Rendon launched a solo homer in the sixth inning to extend his team's lead to two, and he plated another run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly to center. He's been able to showcase his power at the plate of late, leaving the yard four times over his last five contests to give him 15 home runs on the season.

McMahon is starting at third base and hitting sixth against the Padres on Friday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Nolan Arenado is getting a rare day off, clearing the way for McMahon to draw a start at the hot corner. The 24-year-old is slashing .238/.326/.394 with six homers and 23 RBI through 160 at-bats so far this season.

Nevin went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk for Double-A Hartford on Thursday.

It's been tough sledding for Nevin in Double-A so far, as he's sporting a .222/.337/.316 slash line through 212 at-bats after lighting up High-A Lancaster with an .889 OPS in 378 at-bats last season. He's a talented hitter, as demonstrated by his .289/.364/.434 career slash line in the minors, so hopefully Thursday's long ball is a sign the 22-year-old is starting to adjust to the Eastern League competition.

Arenado is not in the lineup Friday against the Padres, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Arenado was struck by a pitch in the left forearm Wednesday against the Cubs and was forced to leave the game. He escaped with nothing worse than a bruise and was able to play Thursday, going 1-for-4 with a walk, but he evidently could use one more day to heal. Ryan McMahon starts at third base in his absence.

Vargas sits for the second straight game Friday against the Nationals.

Ketel Marte will again play second base, with Jarrod Dyson starting in center field. Vargas has just three hits in his last eight contests.
