  • Kevin Newman 3B | LAA

Pirates' Kevin Newman: Situated on bench

Newman is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Royals.

Newman has started five of the last six games at shortstop, slashing .421/.400/.474 with three RBI over that stretch. He'll give way to Jordy Mercer up in the middle in this one, but the rookie is expected to see the lion's share of opportunities at shortstop down the stretch.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Homers in win

Longoria went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 4-2 win over the Padres.

Longoria currently leads all Giants with 16 homers despite missing six weeks with a broken hand. Outside of decent power totals, the veteran third baseman has otherwise been a disappointment from a fantasy perspective with a .249/.289/.429 slash line over 114 games.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Cranks three-run shot

Muncy went 1-for-3 with a pair of walks and a three-run home run in Monday's 8-2 victory over the Rockies.

Muncy's storybook season continued with his 33rd homer, which is either tied for or leading all qualified players at both first and second base. The 28-year-old is still sitting occasionally against southpaws, but there is no reason that fantasy owners shouldn't continue riding his power surge through the finish line.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Launches 21st homer

Rendon went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in Monday's 8-5 loss to Miami.

Rendon went deep in the third inning, plating two runs on a blast over the wall in left field. Following Monday's performance, he's recorded three straight multi-hit games, going 8-for-12 with a double, two home runs and six RBI over that brief stretch. Rendon sports a .304/.369/.520 slash line through 125 games with two weeks remaining in the regular season.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

Rays' Matt Duffy: Not in lineup for series opener

Duffy is not in the lineup Monday against the Rangers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Duffy will head to the bench for Monday's series opener as manager Kevin Cash looks to stack left-handed hitters against righty Adrian Sampson. Joey Wendle will start at third base in his place, with Brandon Lowe picking up a start at the keystone. Duffy is hitting a solid .306/.432/.389 with seven RBI and a stolen base through 11 games in September.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Reaches 20-homer plateau

Rendon went 3-for-4 with a home run, walk, two RBI and two runs in the Nationals' 6-4 victory over the Braves on Sunday.

Rendon extended his on-base streak to 25 games with his third-inning two-run homer, his 20th of the season. It's the fourth time in five seasons Rendon has reached the 20-homer threshhold, with his injury-plagued 2015 campaign marking the only time he failed to achieve the feat. While he lacks the elite power production of some of his contemporaries at the corner-infield spots, Rendon's steady home-run outputs paired with typically high batting averages has continued to make him a quality value pick in fantasy drafts the last few years.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Mariners' Jean Segura: Receives rest in series finale

Segura is sitting out Sunday against the Angels, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Segura only recently got over an illness that had kept him out for three consecutive games, so he'll be given some additional time to recuperate following back-to-back starts in which he went 2-for-9 with a walk and two runs. Andrew Romine gets the nod at shortstop in his stead in the series finale.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Held out Sunday

Anderson is not in the lineup Sunday against the Phillies, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

Anderson has just a .469 OPS with a 41.9 percent strikeout rate in the month of September, so he'll get a day off Sunday. Miguel Rojas will man the hot corner in his stead.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Indians' Jose Ramirez: Receives rare rest

Ramirez will not start Sunday against the Tigers.

Ramirez will sit for just the fourth time this season. Adam Rosales will get the call at second base.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Reaches base five times

Muncy went 1-for-1 with four walks, an RBI and a pair of runs scored in Saturday's win over St. Louis.

Muncy's power outbreak has calmed a bit (by his standards) with just two homers over his last 17 games, but he has continued to be an on-base machine with 13 walks over that span. The 27-year-old is no longer seeing everyday playing time, but he remains in the lineup against right-handed starters more often than not, keeping his fantasy value afloat.
