Duffy (achilles) will not return until after the All-Star break in mid-July, Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury News reports.

Duffy left Sunday's game with an achilles injury that will leave him out until July 15 at the earliest. He is currently in a walking boot and it will take him around three weeks plus a rehab assignment before he is back on the field with the Giants. Duffy is hitting .253 with four home runs and 21 RBI during his 70 games with the club this season.

Bregman (head) will be held of the lineup at Double-A Corpus Christi on Tuesday as a precaution, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The report notes that Bregman's "fine," suggesting he avoided a concussion after being drilled on the head by a 94 mph fastball Monday. It sounds like Bregman could be back in action with Corpus Christi as soon as Wednesday. The 22-year-old is making a case to bypass the Triple-A level and reach the majors, slashing .304/.412/.571 with 14 homers through 57 games with the affiliate.

Rivera was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday.

Rivera will temporarily take the roster spot of Hernan Perez, who was placed on the paternity list to attend to the birth of his daughter. Rivera was with the Brewers for all of April and the first two weeks of May, posting a .196/.213/.261 slash line in 47 plate appearances. He hasn't fared much better at the Triple-A level.

A three-home run week helped Donaldson beat out fellow Blue Jays Edwin Encarnacion and Michael Saunders to earn the AL Player of the Week award for the fourth time in his career.

Donaldson went 12 for 27 with three homers, four doubles, a triple and nine runs driven in to win the award for the first time in 2016. The 30-year-old led the league in total bases (27) and extra-base hits (8) for the week ending June 19th and tied for first in slugging percentage (1.000). After a somewhat slow start (by his standards), Donaldson looks more like the reigning MVP at the start of summer.

Hayes, 19, is batting .269/.325/.399 with six home runs, 31 RBI and six steals through 55 games for Low-A West Virginia.

The teenager has not been overwhelmed at this level. The son of former big leaguer Charlie Hayes was a first round selection in the 2015 draft, and is expected to play the same position as his father. The younger Hayes is still a few years away from making an impact for the Pirates, but his future is bright, and his power is expected to develop as he matures.

Chapman, 23, is slashing .230/.323/.451 with 15 home runs, 36 RBI and four steals through 68 games for Double-A Midland.

Chapman got off to a fast start in 2016, but has come crashing back down to earth. A huge red flag is his strikeout total, which sits at 98 in 68 contests. It remains to be seen if Chapman will be able to hit for average at the higher levels. Chapman has not hit above .250 in any single year since entering the minors.

Longoria went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer Monday in Cleveland.

Longoria is having a major bounce-back season, slugging a career-high .551 with 18 homers in 66 games. The 30-year-old third baseman proved capable of such sustained production early in his career, so enjoy the ride.

Bregman left Monday's game at Double-A Corpus Christi after being hit in the head with a pitch.

Bregman exited the game after the incident and could be held out of Tuesday's game for precautionary reasons, though no announcement has yet been made. The 22-year-old is having a great season, batting .304 with 14 home runs and 44 RBI.

Duffy has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with an Achilles strain, Andrew Baggarly of the Bay Area News Group reports.

Duffy has had minor Achilles problems in the past that have only forced him out of a few games, but this one is bad enough that he'll need at least two weeks before he can make it back. For now, it's unclear if he'll need to spend any more than the minimum time on the disabled list before he returns. Duffy underwent an MRI on Monday, and we'll update if the results reveal any more information. The Giants have not announced a corresponding roster move, although shortstop prospect Christian Arroyo, currently hitting .285/.330/.397 for Double-A Richmond, is a possibility.

However, based off past experience with soreness in his Achilles heel, it isn't believed that Duffy will miss more than a few games and simply needs the time to rest. Ramiro Pena will likely get the nod and start at third base during Duffy's absence.
