Candelario is out of the lineup with a sore right knee Friday versus the Rangers, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Candelario was hit in the knee with a pitch Thursday and he'll now be forced to miss at least one game. Ildemaro Vargas will take over at third base and bat fifth Friday against Texas.

  • Brett Baty 3B | NYM

    Mets' Brett Baty: Sidelined Friday

Baty (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup Friday versus the Padres.

Baty will miss a second straight game while nursing hamstring tightness. Luis Guillorme will take over at the hot corner and bat ninth in the series opener with the Padres.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Nabs steal in loss

Garcia went 0-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base in Thursday's 6-1 loss to the Guardians.

Garcia's six-game hitting streak came to a close, but he drew multiple walks for the second time in his last four contests. The infielder's plate discipline is solid, with an 8.3 percent walk rate and 23.0 percent strikeout rate through 55 contests. He's displayed a solid hit tool by batting .291 with a .372 BABIP, and he's added three home runs, 14 stolen bases, 21 RBI and 26 runs scored through 222 plate appearances. He's settled into the leadoff spot over the last week after spending much of June moving around the lineup.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Key hit in win

Senzel went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Nationals.

Senzel crushed the first pitch in the top of the 10th inning for a homer and plated the winning run for the Reds. He's homered in two consecutive games and has seven in 60 games. Senzel also showed off his versatility, playing center field, right field and third base.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Hits first homer in July

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 6-1 win against Kansas City on Thursday.

Ramirez launched a solo shot to left field in the sixth inning to give Cleveland its first lead of the game. The long ball was his first in what has been a quiet start to July, as he's slashing .217/.333/.391 without a steal so far this month. Ramirez started June off quietly as well, but he picked things up with a .392/.462/.772 slash line, seven homers, 22 RBI and four thefts over his final 20 games of that month.

Muncy has gone 7-for-28 (.250) over his last eight contests while smacking two homers and adding six RBI in that span. His blast Thursday was his 20th of the campaign -- a mark he's reached in each of the last five full seasons. The infielder is still batting just .195, but he's slugging .469 with 51 RBI, 46 runs scored, one stolen base and six doubles through 70 contests.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Swipes bag in return

Hayes went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Hayes had a minimal stay on the injured list due to lower-back stiffness. He was able to pick up his ninth steal of the season, but offense was limited for the Pirates against Julio Urias and the Dodgers' bullpen. Hayes hit .337 (28-for-83) over 21 games in June prior to his injury, and he'll look to get back on track quickly. For the season, the third baseman owns a .252/.290/.393 slash line with five home runs, 32 RBI and 34 runs scored over 75 contests.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Career day in blowout win

Henderson went 4-for-7 with a solo homer, a three-run homer, an additional RBI and an additional run scored in Thursday's win over the Yankees.

Henderson was unstoppable through the first four innings, going 4-for-4 with a pair of home runs to collect a total of five RBI and three runs scored. The outing marked Henderson's first career multi-homer game while also setting a career high in RBI despite him going 0-for-3 in his final three plate appearances. Through 76 games, the second-year infielder is slashing .246/.339/.465 with 13 home runs and five stolen bases but is striking out at a 30.8 percent clip.

  • Taylor Walls 3B | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Swipes two bags

Walls went 0-for-3 with a walk and two steals in Thursday's 3-1 loss against the Phillies.

Walls continued to run all over the Phillies, racking up his second and third stolen bases of the series Thursday. The pair of swipes pushed him to 20 on the season, the ninth most in baseball. Though he's managed to produce in the steal column lately, Walls is going through a mini-slump, having gone hitless in each of his last four games (10 at-bats).

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Powers up in win

Suarez went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, three RBI and three runs scored in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Astros.

He's been hitting better of late, going 16-for-49 (.327) over his last 14 games while racking up four homers and 13 RBI in that span.
