  • Michael Busch 1B | CHC

Dodgers' Michael Busch: Optioned to Triple-A

Busch was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City by the Dodgers on Thursday.

Busch didn't play a ton during his first stint in the big leagues, getting five starts over a two-and-a-half week period. He's clearing out to make room for J.D. Martinez's return from the injured list.

  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Twins' Kyle Farmer: Belts homer in win

Farmer went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a 5-3 win against San Diego on Thursday.

Farmer showed some muscle with a game-tying, 433-foot blast off Yu Darvish in the fourth inning. It was just his second homer of the campaign, though he's played in only 13 contests due to an extended IL stint. Farmer was in an 0-for-11 cold spell prior to hitting the injured list, but he has gone 2-for-6 in two contests since his return.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Not in lineup Thursday

Paredes is not in the lineup Thursday against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Taylor Walls will play third base and bat fifth versus the Yankees and right-hander Domingo German. Paredes enjoyed an encouraging start to the 2023 season but is slashing just .191/.261/.286 through 23 plate appearances so far in May. He has an overall .693 OPS against righties, compared to an .887 OPS against lefties.

  • Julio Carreras 3B | COL

Rockies' Julio Carreras: On injured list at Double-A

Double-A Hartford placed Carreras on the 7-day injured list April 25 with an unspecified injury.

He hadn't played since April 22 before landing on the IL. Carreras hit .271 with a .364 on-base percentage, two home runs and three steals in 56 plate appearances prior to suffering the injury. The Rockies added the 23-year-old shortstop to the 40-man roster back in November to protect him from being selected during the Rule 5 draft.

  • Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA

Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Doing defensive drills

Peraza (ankle) went through defensive drills Thursday in the Bronx, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

The next step for Peraza could be a minor-league rehab assignment, which possibly gets underway this weekend. He was placed on the 10-day injured list May 9, retroactive to May 6, primarily because he was having trouble moving laterally on defense. His right ankle sprain was always considered minor and he appears on track to return to the Yankees when first eligible May 16.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Likely back Friday

Moncada (back) is expected to be activated from the injured list Friday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

White Sox manager Pedro Grifol had hinted previously that it was a good possibility, and Moncada not being in Triple-A Charlotte's lineup Thursday is a good indication his time there on a rehab assignment is over. The third baseman has been on the shelf since mid-April with a nagging back injury. He had an .889 OPS with two homers in nine games before getting hurt.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Homers again in win

LeMahieu went 1-for-4 with a homer, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's victory over Oakland.

LeMahieu extended the Yankees' lead to 7-2 with a two-run shot off Rico Garcia in the fifth inning. LeMahieu has now hit safely in eight straight contests, going 11-for-31 in that span while homering in consecutive games. The veteran infielder is off to a strong start this season, slashing .277/.346/.479 with five home runs, 19 runs scored and 18 RBI through 133 plate appearances.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Swipes first bag of 2023

Suarez went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers.

It's the first successful theft for Suarez since 2020, and his 30th percentile sprint speed doesn't suggest he's going to suddenly become a consistent threat on the basepaths even under the new rules. The 31-year-old isn't providing much value with his bat at the moment either, as he's batting just .152 (5-for-33) with one homer, three runs and four RBI through nine games in May.

  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Twins' Kyle Farmer: Goes 1-for-3 in return

Farmer (mouth) went 1-for-3 in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-innings win over the Padres.

Farmer missed nearly a month after needing surgery to repair the damage from when he got hit by a pitch versus the White Sox on April 12. The versatile infielder went 0-for-11 in the four games before his injury. He's slashing .235/.289/.353 with a home run, five RBI, six runs scored and no stolen bases through 38 plate appearances this season. Farmer and Willi Castro are expected to share time at third base following Jose Miranda's demotion to Triple-A St. Paul. If it becomes a strict platoon, the righty-hitting Farmer would be on the short side of it.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Goes deep Tuesday

Wisdom went 1-for-4 with a walk and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 10-4 win over the Cardinals.

Wisdom popped his second home run of the month and 12th of the season in the third inning. The 31-year-old came into the game mired in a 7-for-40 slump, so when he's not hitting long balls, he can be tough to stomach in fantasy leagues. Wisdom is now batting .237 with a .941 OPS and should continue to be a boom-or-bust option moving forward.
