  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Back from IL, serving suspension

Rendon (wrist) was activated from the 60-day injured list and will begin serving his five-game suspension Wednesday against the Athletics, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

The 32-year-old seemed likely to be out for the season after he underwent wrist surgery in June, but he progressed to hitting against live pitching this week and will rejoin the Angels for the final week of the season. Rendon will first serve a five-game suspension stemming from a brawl with the Mariners shortly after the wrist surgery, and he'll be eligible to take the field for Monday in Oakland for the final three games of the campaign.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Managing foot injury

Moncada isn't starting Wednesday against the Twins due to a bone bruise on the top of his foot, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Moncada sustained his injury when fouling a ball off his foot late in Tuesday's loss to the Twins, and he'll undergo X-rays to determine the extent of the issue. He's considered day-to-day for now, but Josh Harrison should see increased time at third base if Moncada is forced to miss additional time.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Slated to return Friday

LeMahieu (toe) will be reinstated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Friday's game against the Orioles, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Manager Aaron Boone hinted early this week that LeMahieu was in the mix to return to action Wednesday, but the team elected to give the second baseman two extra days off. Boone also indicated last week that LeMahieu likely won't be 100 percent healthy when he's activated, but the 34-year-old will have a few chances to appear in regular-season games ahead of postseason play.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Sits after team clinches division

Arenado is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Arenado is one of several Cardinals regulars getting the day off for the series finale after St. Louis clinched the National League Central title with a 6-2 win Tuesday. Juan Yepez will fill in for Arenado at third base.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Brewers' Jace Peterson: Losing work to Urias

Peterson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Peterson finds himself on the bench for the fourth time in five games. Though his absence Wednesday comes with southpaw Jose Quintana on the bump, the lefty-hitting Peterson has also sat against two right-handed pitchers during that five-game stretch. Luis Urias looks to have wrested a regular role in the infield away from Peterson.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Day off Wednesday

Moncada isn't starting Wednesday against Minnesota.

Moncada is getting a breather after he went 2-for-7 with a solo home run, a double, a walk and a strikeout over the last two games. Josh Harrison will take over at the hot corner and bat eighth.

  • Tyler Nevin 3B | ATH

Orioles' Tyler Nevin: Called up, starting Wednesday

The Orioles recalled Nevin from Triple-A Norfolk, and he'll start at third base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Nevin is joining the Orioles' 28-man active roster as a replacement for Ramon Urias (knee), who was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Assuming he sticks with Baltimore through the final week of the season, Nevin will likely form the short side of a platoon at the hot corner with the lefty-hitting Gunnar Henderson, who is sitting against Boston southpaw Rich Hill.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Absent from Wednesday's lineup

Henderson isn't starting Wednesday against the Red Sox, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Henderson has gone just 1-for-19 with a homer, two runs, two RBI, five walks and nine strikeouts over his last six games, and he'll get a day off Wednesday. Tyler Nevin is starting at the hot corner and batting sixth.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Shut down with knee injury

The Orioles placed Urias on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right knee sprain.

Urias was diagnosed with the injury after he went 3-for-3 with a solo home run and a triple before exiting Tuesday's 13-9 loss to the Red Sox. Though his injury isn't believed to anything significant, his move to the IL will officially spell an end to his 2022 campaign, barring the Orioles overcoming long odds to clinch a wild-card berth. In his 445 plate appearances this season, the 28-year-old infielder contributed 16 home runs, 51 RBI, 50 runs and one stolen base to go with a .248/.305/.414 slash line.

  • Diamondbacks' Emmanuel Rivera: Returns to bench role

Rivera is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Houston.

After making starts in four consecutive games last week, Rivera will now find himself on the bench for the fourth straight contest. He looks set to finish the season as a short-side platoon player for the Diamondbacks.
