  • Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Reinstated from IL

O'Hoppe (concussion) was reinstated from the 7-day injured list Monday.

O'Hoppe has passed through the league's concussion protocol and will end up spending the minimum amount of time on the injured list. His return will bump Sebastian Rivero down to a backup role while Travis d'Arnaud (concussion) is sidelined. The Angels also designated Chad Wallach for assignment to make room on the roster for O'Hoppe's return. Prior to his stint on the 7-day IL, O'Hoppe had a .532 OPS with one steal, eight runs, two homers and six RBI across 32 games since the All-Star break.

  • Twins' Christian Vazquez: Nearing rehab games

Vazquez (shoulder) is expected to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Vazquez has been shelved since early August with an infection in his left shoulder and had surgery in late August to clean the shoulder out. He's on the comeback trail now, though, and is expected to return from the 10-day injured list before the end of the season.

  • Rays' Hunter Feduccia: Sitting against right-hander

Feduccia is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

After taking a seat against Cubs lefty Shota Imanaga in Sunday's 4-3 loss, the left-handed-hitting Feduccia will now give way to Nick Fortes behind the plate while the Rays face off against a right-hander (Trey Yesavage) in the series opener. Feduccia is batting just .156 since being acquired from the Dodgers at the trade deadline and could be at risk of losing out on his strong-side platoon role at catcher.

  • Blue Jays' Tyler Heineman: Filling in for resting Kirk

Heineman will start at catcher and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Rays.

No. 1 backstop Alejandro Kirk will receive a day off as Toronto opens its three-game series in Tampa, paving the way for Heineman to receive a turn behind the plate. Since returning to the active roster June 3 after a stint on the 7-day injured list due to a concussion, Heineman has slashed .258/.362/.393 with two home runs, 13 RBI and 14 runs in 40 games.

  • Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Receiving night off

Kirk is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.

Kirk will rest for the series opener in Tampa after he went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run while catching seven innings of Sunday's 11-2 win over the Orioles. Tyler Heineman will step in behind the dish Monday.

  • Twins' Jhonny Pereda: Making third start in four games

Pereda will start at catcher and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Yankees.

With Ryan Jeffers (concussion) recently joining Christian Vazquez (shoulder) on the injured list, Pereda and Mickey Gasper are left standing as the Twins' lone healthy catchers. Pereda appears to have tentatively emerged as the preferred option of the two, as he'll be drawing his third start in four games Monday. Since being called up from Triple-A St. Paul on Sept. 5, Pereda has gone 6-for-15 with two doubles, two walks and one RBI over six games.

  • Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Closing in on rehab assignment

Rutschman (oblique) is likely to start a rehab assignment at some point this week, MLB.com reports.

Rutschman took batting practice Friday and Saturday amid his recovery from a strained oblique, putting him on track to return to game action in the minor leagues in the imminent future. It's unclear how many at-bats the Orioles will want Rutschman to pick up in the minors before rejoining the major-league roster, but he still has a chance to be activated from the injured list before the end of the season.

  • Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Caps early rally with homer

Narvaez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Yankees.

The Red Sox rallied in the first inning, but the bases were clear after a pair of run-generating outs. That's when Narvaez homered to provide Boston's sixth and final run, which ended up being more than enough for the win. The catcher has gone deep five times over his last 22 games, batting .254 (18-for-71) in that span while adding 12 RBI. On the year, he's up to a .248/.318/.429 slash line with 14 homers, 45 RBI, 50 runs scored, 25 doubles and a stolen base through 109 contests.

  • Bo Naylor C | CLE

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Carries offense in win

Naylor went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, a walk and three RBI in Sunday's 3-2 victory over the White Sox.

The Cleveland backstop plated all of his team's runs, capped by a 375-foot solo shot off Chicago reliever Brandon Eisert in the seventh. Naylor has found a groove in September, as he's batting .310 (9-for-29) with a homer, four doubles, six runs scored and four RBI this month. Overall, the 25-year-old is now slashing .187/.281/.362 with 12 homers, 42 runs scored and 35 RBI across 377 total plate appearances.

  • Cal Raleigh C | SEA

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Ties big-league record Sunday

Raleigh went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and three total runs scored in Sunday's 11-2 win over the Angels.

Raleigh's first-inning homer was his 54th of the season, tying Mickey Mantle's major-league record for the most homers in a season by a switch hitter. Raleigh has clubbed four homers and supplied eight RBI over 13 games in September, batting .280 (14-for-50) in that span. For the season, the catcher is at a .244/.359/.577 slash line with 115 RBI, 101 runs scored, 21 doubles and 14 stolen bases over 147 contests.
