  • Twins' Christian Vazquez: Back from paternity leave

    The Twins activated Vazquez (personal) from the paternity list Wednesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

    Vazquez was away for two games while welcoming a new addition to the family. Fellow catcher Jair Camargo was sent down to Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move.

  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Getting some rest Wednesday

    Langeliers is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Houston.

    Langeliers will get a regular day of rest after he had started at catcher both of the past two games. Kyle McCann will check in for Langeliers behind the plate.

    Yankees' Austin Wells: Getting breather Wednesday

    Wells is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Royals.

    Wells had made five straight starts, but he'll begin Wednesday's series finale on the bench. Jose Trevino will handle catching duties and bat ninth for New York.

    O'Hoppe is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Minnesota.

    It's a routine day off for O'Hoppe, who started each of the first two games of the series. Matt Thaiss will do the catching for Wednesday's finale.

    Heim is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

    Heim will take a seat for Wednesday's matinee after he logged eight innings behind the plate in the Rangers' 6-0 loss Tuesday night. Carson Kelly will start at catcher in the series finale in Arizona.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Reaches 100-RBI mark

    Perez went 2-for-3 with two RBI in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Yankees.

    Perez has six RBI over his last three games. That surge of run production has made him the sixth player in the majors this year to reach the 100-RBI threshold. For the year, he's at a .277/.337/.475 slash line with 26 home runs, 27 doubles, 56 runs scored and no stolen bases over 143 contests. With Vinnie Pasquantino (thumb) out through the end of the regular season, Perez has picked up more time at first base. He's played enough at catcher (83 games) and first base (43 games) to retain eligibility at both positions entering 2025.

  • Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Day off Wednesday

    Kirk is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Mets.

    Kirk started at catcher in both of the first two games of the series but will begin Wednesday's finale on the bench. Brian Serven will be behind the dish and batting ninth for the Blue Jays.

    Naylor is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the White Sox.

    After catching both of the first two games of the series, Naylor will take a seat for Wednesday's matinee. Austin Hedges will start behind the dish as the Guardians try to complete the sweep.

    Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Reaches 30-homer mark

    Raleigh went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Padres.

    Raleigh got the Mariners on the board early with a first-inning solo home run off Yu Darvish to bring him up to 30 home runs for a second consecutive season. The 27-year-old is batting .333/.378/.667 with three homers, 11 RBI and seven runs over his last eight games and leads the Mariners by a wide margin in home runs and RBI. For the year, he's slashing .213/.304/.431 with 45 extra-base hits, 91 RBI, 64 runs, six steals and a 60:161 BB:K in 553 plate appearances.

    White Sox's Korey Lee: Sitting out afternoon game

    Lee is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

    Lee started each of the previous three contests, but he'll get a breather Wednesday as the White Sox and Guardians wrap up their series with an afternoon game. Chuckie Robinson will catch and bat eighth.
