Langeliers went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Friday's 13-3 win over the Angels.

Langeliers has four homers over his last 13 games, and he's hitting .288 (15-for-52) in that span. The catcher has been more power than contact in 2024, but he's done both well of late. He ranks second to only Seattle's Cal Raleigh in homers among backstops -- Langeliers has 18 of them on the year. He's added a .213/.267/.443 slash line with 52 RBI, 35 runs scored, four stolen bases, nine doubles and two triples over 83 contests.

Wong isn't in the Red Sox's lineup for Friday's game versus the Dodgers, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Wong will take a seat for the first game of the second half after also sitting down during the final two games before the All-Star break. Reese McGuire will once again draw the start behind the plate and bat ninth.

O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.

O'Hoppe isn't in the Angels' lineup for the team's first game coming out of the All-Star break. Lefty-hitting Matt Thaiss will step in behind the plate even with southpaw JP Sears starting for Oakland. O'Hoppe had started in each of the Angels' past 11 games. Per Erica Weston of Bally Sports West, the backstop had travel issues flying back to California following the break, but he's on the ground and is expected to be in uniform Friday off the bench.

Caratini (hip) will continue his minor-league rehab assignment at Double-A Corpus Christi on Friday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Caratini went 2-for-5 in two games with the Astros' Florida Complex League affiliate. The catcher has been on the shelf since June 21 and was initially given a three-to-four week timetable for his return. Caratini is on track to rejoin the Astros before the end of July.

The White Sox recalled Robinson from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.

The 29-year-old is taking over as the backup catcher behind Korey Lee after Martin Maldonado was designated for assignment. Robinson has a .407 OPS in 25 career games at the big-league level, but he has flashed a bit of power with 20 homers and a .275/.335/.428 slash line in 155 Triple-A games over the last two seasons.

Trevino (quadriceps) did some running and played catch Thursday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Trevino sustained a Grade 2 strain in his left hamstring July 12, but he has been progressing well since. He played catch with manager Aaron Boone on Thursday and has been able to do some light running. Still, Trevino isn't expected to be in action any time soon. Austin Wells should continue to handle most of the Yankees' catching duties.

Jansen is not in the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Tigers.

Alejandro Kirk started at catcher in five of the final eight games before the All-Star break and is behind the dish again for the second-half opener. While it might be too soon to say Jansen has been passed up in the pecking order, it does appear to be a 1A/1B situation at best for Jansen with Kirk after he had previously been the clear top option. Jansen has just a .467 OPS since June 1.

The White Sox designated Maldonado for assignment Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal and Chandler Rome of The Athletic report.

After slashing .119/.174/.230 across 147 plate appearances during what has been the worst season of his career at the plate, Maldonado has now officially lost his roster spot with the White Sox. Given his poor performance, the 37-year-old backstop will most likely pass through waivers unclaimed, at which point he would have the option to elect free agency.

The Astros sent Caratini (hip) to the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.

Caratini has been shelved since late June with a left hip flexor strain but has been cleared for rehab games. The veteran catcher shouldn't need an extended rehab assignment before being activated from the 10-day injured list, with a return early on in the second half a likely outcome.

Perez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Red Sox.

Perez heads into the All-Star break 11-for-31 (.355) with three homers and eight RBI during his active eight-game hitting streak. The catcher is up to 17 homers on the year, giving him a good chance of surpassing the 23 he hit in each of the last two campaigns. He's added 62 RBI, 38 runs scored, 16 doubles and a .282/.343/.477 slash line over 94 contests.
