Orioles' Blake Hunt: Placed on minor-league IL
Triple-A Norfolk placed Hunt on its 7-day injured list Tuesday with a left groin strain, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Hunt will now be sidelined for at least a week while nursing the groin issue. The catcher has produced a .192 average with three home runs, six RBI and six runs scored over 52 at-bats in 13 contests with Norfolk since being traded to the Orioles organization from the Mariners on May 22.

Mariners' Seby Zavala: DFA'd by Seattle
The Mariners designated Zavala for assignment Tuesday.
Zavala has played in just 18 games this season and has a .154/.214/.282 slash line and 37.2 percent strikeout rate in 43 plate appearances. The Mariners already have Cal Raleigh and Mitch Garver on the big-league roster, so the club will roll with two catchers going forward.

Rangers' Andrew Knizner: Back on bench Monday
Knizner is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.
Sam Huff will step in behind the dish in the series opener after Knizner started at catcher in all three of the Rangers' games in Seattle over the weekend while going 1-for-9. Top backstop Jonah Heim (personal) is on track to return from the paternity list Tuesday, so Knizner will soon move back to second on the depth chart and see his playing time trend toward.

Athletics' Kyle McCann: Timely knock in rare start
McCann went 1-for-4 with an RBI single during a loss to the Twins in the first game of a doubleheader Sunday.
The rookie backstop drew a rare start and was able to tack on the final run of the matinee game for the Athletics with his ninth-inning single. McCann boasts an impressive .278/.358/.444 slash line across his first 81 career plate appearances, but Shea Langeliers has been an ironman behind the dish and is garnering the bulk of playing time at McCann's expense.

Red Sox's Connor Wong: Extends hit streak to nine games
Wong went 2-for-4 with a walk, a triple and three RBI in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Yankees.
Wong delivered a two-run triple in the seventh inning then singled in a run an inning later. The catcher upped his hit streak to nine games, during which he's 12-for-31 (.387) with six walks, six RBI, one steal and four runs scored.
