Murphy is slated to have imaging performed on his injured thumb Friday in order to determine whether he's ready to return to baseball activities, the team's official site reports.

Murphy suffered a thumb sprain in mid-August but subsequently suffered a small fracture in the thumb in early September, and he's been shut down altogether since Sept. 11. Friday's evaluation should give the Mariners a clearer picture of whether he'll return before the end of the regular season. Murphy's been a key contributor in 2023 with an .873 OPS across 158 plate appearances.

Jansen (finger) was cleared Thursday to begin mobility exercises with his surgically-repaired right hand, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Jansen fractured his right middle finger when he was struck by a foul ball Sept. 1 in Colorado. There is no official timetable yet for his return to the Blue Jays' active roster, but the 28-year-old catcher has expressed optimism about being available for a potential postseason run. Alejandro Kirk continues to draw the majority of starts behind the plate in Jansen's absence.

Wells is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Blue Jays.

Wells popped his first major-league home run in Wednesday's loss to the Jays but will take a seat Thursday for the second time over the last three contests. Ben Rortvedt is doing the catching for Gerrit Cole.

Raleigh went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in a win over the Athletics on Wednesday.

Raleigh's solo homer to right field was part of a critical four-run fifth inning for Seattle. The slugging backstop is now just one homer short of reaching the 30-mark for the first time at any professional level, and he's been a consistently productive asset throughout September with a .273 average, .812 OPS, five extra-base hits and seven RBI across 73 plate appearances.

Heim went 1-for-3 with a walk, a home run, three RBI and a second run scored in Wednesday's 15-5 win over Boston.

Heim was productive in two straight wins over Boston, hitting two doubles and a home run with five RBI between Tuesday and Wednesday. He's slumped overall since his return from the injured list Aug. 13 with a .202 average and .619 OPS, but the catcher's bat has shown life of late. Heim is batting .273 (9-for-33) with three homers, three doubles, 13 RBI and six runs scored over the last nine games.

Vazquez went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's win over Cincinnati.

Vazquez reached base three times Wednesday and came around to score the Twins' second run in the top of the eighth after leading off the inning with a double. The backstop then stole his first base of the season in the ninth before coming home a second time on a Jorge Polanco single, giving Minnesota a 5-3 lead. Vazquez had failed to record a hit in his previous four games coming in and is still batting just .194 in September following the two-hit performance.

Wells went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in a loss to the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Wells accounted for New York's only extra-base hits in the loss, and his ninth-inning homer was the only thing that prevented the team from getting shut out. The long ball was the backstop's first in the big leagues, and this was the first time he's had more than one hit in a game. Wells has found the going tough at the plate in his first cup of coffee with the Yankees, slashing .163/.196/.326 with a 2:11 BB:K over 46 plate appearances thus far.

Rogers is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Dodgers.

Carson Kelly will start at catcher and bat ninth for the visiting Tigers. Rogers went 2-for-8 with a homer and three RBI across the first two games of the three-game series.

Pinto is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Pinto has operated as Tampa Bay's primary backstop over the past couple weeks and has an .846 OPS over 39 at-bats in September, but he'll head to the bench for Wednesday's contest. Christian Bethancourt will take over behind the plate and bat ninth.

Langeliers is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Mariners.

Langeliers will get a breather for Wednesday's afternoon tilt after starting each of the last three games. Tyler Soderstrom will do the catching for Joey Estes.
