Jose Trevino C | CIN
Yankees' Jose Trevino: On bench Wednesday
Trevino isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.
Trevino returned to the lineup Tuesday and went 0-for-3 during the series opener against Tampa Bay. He'll retreat to the bench against left-hander Shane McClanahan while Kyle Higashioka starts behind the plate and bats ninth.

Cal Raleigh C | SEA
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Not starting Wednesday
Raleigh isn't starting Wednesday against the Twins.
Raleigh went 2-for-8 with a double and a strikeout over the last two games and will get a breather in Wednesday's series finale against the Twins. Luis Torrens is starting behind the plate and batting seventh.

Reese McGuire C | CHW
White Sox's Reese McGuire: Resting Wednesday
McGuire is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
McGuire will take a seat for the day game after he went 1-for-4 while playing all nine innings behind the dish in Tuesday's 5-1 win. Seby Zavala will catch for starting pitcher Vince Velasquez in Wednesday's series finale, but McGuire still looks to be locked in as Chicago's No. 1 backstop while Yasmani Grandal (back) is on the injured list.

Gabriel Moreno C | ARI
Blue Jays' Gabriel Moreno: Three hits in Tuesday's loss
Moreno went 3-for-4 with two RBI in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Orioles.
Batting eighth, the rookie catcher displayed his plus hit tool and drove in the first two runs of his big-league career. While Jorge Mateo did steal two bases off Moreno, marring his defensive performance somewhat, the pilfers can mostly be blamed on the slow delivery of Trevor Richards. Moreno has started three of four games since his promotion, going 4-for-11 with a 1:1 BB:K, and the Blue Jays appear intent on giving the 22-year-old every opportunity to lock down the starting job behind the plate, at least until Danny Jansen (finger) gets healthy.

Gary Sanchez C | MIL
Twins' Gary Sanchez: Not in Tuesday's lineup
Sanchez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
Sanchez is 2-for-19 over his past five contests and will take a seat for the second time in the last three games. Byron Buxton will rest his legs as the designated hitter while Gilberto Celestino starts in center field.

Danny Jansen C | TEX
Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Resumes limited activities
Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said Tuesday that Jansen (finger) has resumed performing minimal baseball activities, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.
Jansen is scheduled to undergo follow-up imaging on his fractured left pinkie finger in the coming days before potentially being cleared to intensify his activities, but the 27-year-old backstop already sounds like he's making great progress since sustaining the injury July 7. Fortunately for Jansen, the injury is to his non-throwing hand, so he'll just need to prove that the fractured digit doesn't cause too much pain when he catches and swings the bat.

Martin Maldonado C | SD
Astros' Martin Maldonado: Heads back to bench
Maldonado will sit Tuesday against the Rangers.
Maldonado finds himself on the bench for the second time in three games. While he's handled a heavy workload behind the plate for most of this season, the Astros' tolerance of his poor bat in exchange for his strong defense may be waning. He's hitting .150/.221/.271 on the year. Jason Castro will take over behind the plate.

Alejandro Kirk C | TOR
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Out of Tuesday's lineup
Kirk is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Orioles.
Gabriel Moreno will start behind the dish while George Springer gets the nod at designated hitter. Kirk is hitting .351 with two home runs in 10 games this month.
