  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Tallies three doubles

Langeliers went 3-for-4 with three doubles, an RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 6-3 victory over the Royals.

It was the first three-double performance of Langeliers' career. The backstop has been locked in at the plate of late, going 11-for-23 (.478) with five doubles across the past five games. Overall in 2026, the 28-year-old has thrived, slashing .328/.382/.592 with eight homers, nine doubles, 15 RBI and 21 runs across 30 contests.

  • Ryan Jeffers C | MIN

Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Belts homer Thursday

Jeffers went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in a 7-1 win against Toronto on Thursday.

The veteran backstop opened the scoring for Minnesota with a two-run blast off Kevin Gausman in the fourth inning. The long ball extended Jeffers' hitting streak to six games, during which he's batting .364 (8-for-22) with two home runs, six runs, eight RBI and a stolen base. The 28-year-old has been a productive part of the Twins' lineup throughout the season, slashing .291/.411/.494 with four homers, 17 runs, 20 RBI and a theft through 24 contests.

  • Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Begins throwing

Kirk (thumb) has begun a throwing program at the Blue Jays' complex in Florida, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Kirk has spent the past several weeks recovering from a procedure he underwent in early April to repair his fractured left thumb. He was given a six-week return timeline following the operation, which would put him in line to be activated sometime around mid-May, though an updated estimate will likely emerge as he continues to check off boxes in his rehab program.

  • Blue Jays' Tyler Heineman: Idle Thursday

Heineman isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins.

Heineman will take a seat for a second consecutive game after logging just one hit in his last 22 at-bats. Brandon Valenzuela will fill in behind the dish and bat ninth.

  • Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Taking seat during nightcap

Rutschman isn't in the lineup for the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Astros, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Rutschman went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and an additional run scored during Baltimore's 10-3 win in Game 1, and he'll get a chance to rest his legs during the second half of Thursday's festivities. Samuel Basallo will do the catching instead for starter Brandon Young.

  • Cooper Ingle C | CLE

Guardians' Cooper Ingle: Shelved at Triple-A

Triple-A Columbus placed Ingle on the 7-day injured list April 24 with right hip inflammation.

Ingle seemed to be en route to forcing a promotion to the majors, as he was slashing .394/.630/.788 at the time of his injury, while walking 37 percent of the time and striking out at a modest 16.7-percent clip. Assuming Ingle returns in the coming days/weeks, he could supplant Bo Naylor, who has a -0.5 fWAR in 23 games.

  • Orioles' Samuel Basallo: Resting for early game

Basallo is out of the lineup for the first game of the Orioles' doubleheader with the Astros.

Adley Rutschman will handle catching duties for the first game of the twin bill, but Basallo will presumably draw the start behind the plate for the nightcap. After producing four extra-base hits (two home runs, two doubles) over his last four games, Basallo has raised his season OPS nearly 200 points.

  • Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Remains out of lineup Thursday

Soderstrom (shoulder/head) remains out of the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.

Soderstrom landed hard trying to make a diving catch in left field Tuesday and will sit for the second straight contest. The Royals are also throwing left-hander Noah Cameron on Thursday, which could play a part in the lefty-hitting Soderstrom getting a second straight day out of the lineup. Carlos Cortes is starting in left and batting sixth.

  • Tigers' Thayron Liranzo: Back in action at Double-A

Liranzo (oblique) has gone 2-for-8 with two doubles and an RBI in two games since being reinstated from Double-A Erie's 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Liranzo sustained a right oblique strain late in spring training and opened the season on the shelf, but he was cleared to make his 2026 debut for Erie this week after wrapping up a six-game rehab assignment in the Florida State League. The 22-year-old was added to the Tigers' 40-man roster over the winter, but he likely sits fourth on the organizational depth chart behind big-league catchers Dillon Dingler and Jake Rogers and Triple-A backstop Eduardo Valencia.

  • Tigers' Dillon Dingler: Sitting out Thursday

Dingler is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Atlanta.

Dingler started at catcher in the first two games of the series, so he'll get a breather for Thursday's matinee. Jake Rogers is behind the dish and batting ninth as the Tigers try to avoid the sweep.
