Rangers' Jose Trevino: Sitting again Tuesday

Trevino is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Athletics.

Trevino will sit for the second straight game as Jonah Heim works behind the plate against his former club Tuesday. Heim and Trevino have seen a relatively even split in the catching duties over the past few weeks, and that could continue going forward.

  • Jake Rogers C | DET

Tigers' Jake Rogers: Not starting Tuesday

Rogers is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Cleveland, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Rogers sits after starting seven of the last nine games. Eric Haase will take over behind the plate in his absence.

  • Red Sox's Kevin Plawecki: Progressing slowly

Plawecki (hamstring) has been slow in his recovery from a strained left hamstring, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

There's been no report of a setback, but it remains unclear when Plawecki will be activated from the 10-day injured list. Until then, Connor Wong, who got his first MLB start Saturday, will handle backup catching duties for the Red Sox.

  • Indians' Austin Hedges: Drives in three runs

Hedges went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and three RBI in Monday's 13-5 win over the Tigers.

Hedges swatted a homer in the second inning to extend Cleveland's lead to 5-1 and added a sacrifice fly in the fifth. The long ball was Hedges' first since June 1 and his fourth of the year. The 28-year-old is slashing .165/.218/.278 with five extra-base hits, 13 RBI, 10 runs scored and a lowly 7:42 BB:K over 127 plate appearances. It's tough to trust Hedges in any fantasy lineup, given his inefficiency at the plate and the fact that he still splits time with Rene Rivera behind the dish.

Tigers' Jake Rogers: Hits fourth home run

Rogers went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Monday's 13-5 loss to Cleveland.

Rogers joined in on the slug fest Monday, as Detroit hit three home runs as a team and Cleveland launched two bombs. The Detroit catcher now has four home runs this season to go along with a .741 OPS. It's solid if not spectacular production, and as the team's best healthy defender behind the plate, he should remain in the lineup most days moving forward.

  • Sam Huff C | BAL

Rangers' Sam Huff: Begins rehab assignment

Huff (knee) began a rehab assignment with the Rangers' Arizona League affiliate Monday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Huff failed to make the Opening Day roster and then underwent knee surgery in late April. The length of his absence may mean he needs a longer rehab assignment than normal. He'll serve as the designated hitter Monday but should advance to catching soon.

  • White Sox's Yasmani Grandal: Starting at first base

Grandal is starting at first base and batting cleanup in Game 2 against the Mariners on Sunday.

The 32-year-old caught the final six frames of Saturday's suspended contest early Sunday, and he'll shift to first base for the second game with Jose Abreu (knee) sitting out. Grandal went 1-for-2 with a sacrifice fly, a walk and a run during Game 1.

  • White Sox's Yasmani Grandal: Shifts to first base

Grandal is starting at first base and batting cleanup in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Mariners.

Grandal caught the final the final six innings of Saturday's suspended game, so he'll move to first base after going 1-for-2 with a sacrifice fly, a walk and a run. Zack Collins will work behind the plate in the nightcap.

  • Red Sox's Christian Vazquez: Adds insurance in win

Vazquez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Yankees.

The catcher has gone 7-for-13 with a home run, four RBI and a stolen base in his last four games. Vazquez has lifted his batting average to .269 with three straight multi-hit efforts. He's added four home runs, 32 RBI, 28 runs scored and seven stolen bases through 253 plate appearances this year.

  • Sean Murphy C | ATL

Athletics' Sean Murphy: Gets rest Sunday

Murphy is not starting Sunday against San Francisco, Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Murphy will yield the catching duties to Aramis Garcia after going hitless across eight at-bats during the first two games of the series. He could be an option for Bob Melvin off the bench, however.
